The New Cases Gallery

Looks really nice Ben, I especially like those Enermax fans.

I'm just waiting for my TJ07 to come back from the powder coaters, when it returns I've got a bunch of new watercooling gear to install, I'll get some pics up here once I rebuild it.

The case is going to be red on the inside with black highlights in places, and my cables are all sleeved with red and black braiding to, I think I'm going to need to buy another mobo that fits the color scheme now!!! :D

Cheers mate. I am actually thinking about watercooling this rig. But it would be my first, and i'm quite scared when it comes to it lol. It will cost me quite a bit too! Around £450 lol. But yeah, I love the tj's and make sure you get some pics of it mate, would defo like to see the progression.

Im thinking of cable sleving the 24pin and 8pin. I did the cathodes and fans my self, but i've tried the 24pin and its like wtf.... So im giving it to one of the watercooling compeditor to do them both for £20 :D

I managed to source a black sleeved 8 pin extension, a must have as my Lian Li is that tall and the psu cable wasnt long enough, sadly though the place i got it from didnt have sleeved 24 pin extensions, the one i got was plain. Im also gonna get a few of my fans sleeved in black and maybe the pwr, reset and led cables on the case.

Is each individual wire sleeved setter or are they all bunched into one bit of braid?

I think it makes things look so much tidier having the cables sleeved, I've done all my front panel connectors, fans, PCIe, 24-pin and 8-pin cables, though I'm probably going to have to redo the PCIe ones as my PSU has been RMA'd again, and they no longer make that PSU anymore, so I'll probably get another brand as my replacement..

The 8 pin cable is sleeved in one piece of braid, nice tight heatshrink so no visible coloured wires, seen some with each individual cable done, can look a bit like spaghetti, particularly on a 24 pin cabe. A mate once done an entire psu for me, not something id attempt myself, luckily he's an electronics engineer, all cables were thoroughly tested and he even provided me with printouts of the results.

Im hopefully also changing soon to a modular psu, my current thermaltake toughpower leaves a terrible jumble of cables that arent used in the bottom of my case. My current sharkoon fans are all sleeved, unfortunately though its white. Gonna change them to black. Sorry to hear about your psu, hope your rma goes ok. Mine for my xfx gtx 280 has turned into a disaster.

Love the red and black theme Ben, also a very neat build. The 800d seems like a fantastic case for cable tidying, and masses of room.

My PSU is being RMA'd with the same folks your 280 is with, they were really good with me with the first PSU I returned, however, I have a funny feeling they are going to return the 2nd one back to me as it is only very rarely that it makes the squealing sounds, but I've explained to them that this is exactly how the first one started, and it got progressively worse over the course of a couple weeks.

The Obsidian 800d looks like a cracking case for cable management, pretty much every build I've seen in those cases have looked super clean with barely any wires in sight.

Regarding individual sleeved wires, I personally think it looks a lot better than having them all bunched together, I guess it's all down to personal preference at the end of the day though.

The reason I prefer it is because you get every last part of the wires hidden from view that way, and I think it just looks a lot cooler to, whereas with them all being bunched together there is usually always a small part of bare wires visible at the ends near the connectors...

Hopefully I get my case back home from the coaters this week, as I'm getting sick fedup of using the missus' rig and my old Athlon system, and I really want to see how I get on with SLi'd 280's as well.

Nearly finished my case, just need to paint the inside of the case black, would a matt black car paint be ok for this?

Front, modded fans and Lian Li TR-5A so there red and blue :)

Cant wait to see your case mate, and the 280 sli setup. Sadly 280 sli isnt gonna happen for me now. Seen the benches you done with the missus's rig, not bad. You mentioned that your own does a lot better davy. With the refund money ill get for my 280 im gonna put it towards a corsair 850w modular psu, try and tidy my Lian Li up a bit. Such a beautiful case but my current thermaltake toughpower really spoils it. I do have an enermax galaxy 650 modular psu in my second rig (a64 4000 s939) but im gonna go crossfire/sli when i can get the cash. Plus im currently running an 8800gt, no use whatsoever at 1920x1200 in games.

Just took another 3 pictures. A new camera, so I'm chumming it. I'm getting better with the settings tho :D I think she looks nicer in the day;

Wow that looks really nice mate :)

Though one thing I'm wondering, why have you put your x-fi so close on the graphics card, not much fresh air can go in there now right?

Well, next month (around the 26th), im picking up another 5850 for them to be in crossfire. Seen as the sound card is pci only, thats the only place it can go. However, the temps are no different and only covers around 1cm, if that, on the fan on the gfx card. Plus, I think it looks a lot neater. :D
