The New Cases Gallery

That case looks lovely setter, loads more room in there than your previous case.

I personally think that it's just screaming for a custom WC loop. :)

Thanks davy. Certainly is a great case. My components do look a bit lost due to the sheer size of it. New vid card, from the unmentionable etailer going into it next week, (xfx 275 gtx). Custom loop is something id do if work/money picks up, would need to mod the top panel a bit to fit a triple rad in the roof. Lian li dont currenty supply triple rad panels for this case. Aside from that theres lots of space for res, pump etc.

Looks grand, nice choice of mobo and cpu. Really enjoyed using the p5q dlx and q9550 myself.

EDIT: You could try routing some of the cables behind the mobo tray, use the rubber slits to push them through, then clamp them down on the back of the mobo tray.

This is what ive done with mine.

fluxc0d3r & Generious, you both have some very nice looking cases :)

Anyway here is my Thermaltake Element G. I have not done anything to it yet. Got some CCFLs which were supposed to be red but turned out to be pink so not putting those in of course.

Sometime I might cut a hole in my motherboard tray, so I dont have to remove the motherboard to change the cpu cooler. Even with push pin coolers I like to make sure they are fully clipped onto the other side of the board properly.

The cutouts are handy to have. Though when i transferred my components into my new case, i just left the cooler mouned on the board, previous case was an akasa eclipse 62 with slide out mobo tray. Came out easily with the TRUE in place.

@Demonmirc, that's not bad for your first build mate.

All you need to do is spend some time routing all those cables neatly behind the mobo tray, just take your time, that particular case is meant to be good for cable management, so you shouldn't have any issues tbh.

The way I do it is take all the PSU cables out through the bottom and then just route them with cable ties and the cable tie anchor bases to keep them neat and tidy.

Do the same thing with the front panel wires and any fan wires to.

Theese were some of my first systems, no cable management whatsoever.

The eclipse went through several component and system switches, got my moneys worth from it.

after looking at your images, i have really been considering this case. the thing that is bugging me the most about it is the hdd orientation, it seems to be 180 degrees wrong to me, can they be turned around so that the cables come out closest to the mb?

and where are the filters? is there a bottom one for the psu?

also, how easy is it to remove the filters for cleaning?

The hdd cages cant be turned round, a lot of cases now use this design, the front fan filters are behind the front panel, you remove the whole panel section by pulling on it, this free's four clips that hold it in place, then its just a matter of unclipping the filters, no need for a screwdriver. Theres no filter on the floor of the case, just a few grooves cut into the floor, the psu sits about half an inch of the floor on rubber risers, at the bottom back theres a grid vent to intake air.

Looks good :) Mine is spoiled by the stupid placement of the 24 pin on my motherboard though.

Going to try and squeeze a water loop in there at some point.

I couldnt live with that power connector there.

Could you not buy one or two of these and re-route where the cable goes, also using some inventive tie wrapping to aid....eg pic below perhaps.

No idea if that possible in your case but you get the idea.
