The New Cases Gallery

5 degrees drop in idle temps so far. GPU is also 6 degrees cooler at 50 now instead of 56. That's with the stock intake 200mm at 50% speed set in the BIOS.

I tried the case's on board fan controller and on mid/low setting there is a weird noise coming from the fan(s) but at max power it's fine. IIRC some 650Ds had an older fan controller bug that Corsair replaced later on. I don't plan on using the fan controller though as I like everything on quiet mode anyway so control it via SpeedFan or the BIOS so not too fussed about that. I read around a while back and Corsair seem to be sending out new fan controllers to people who has a buzzing controller too so worth keeping in mind.

I'm replacing the intake with a £10 200mm CoolerMaster MegaFlow which is rated at 19.1dBA and has a 184 m3/h airflow rating so not bad. That should shave a couple of extra degrees and result in an even quieter system altogether.

At the moment it's almost as quiet as my Lian-Li used to be but then again I am using the same HSF and fans on it. The top 200mm makes no noise at all at 50% speed so once the CoolerMaster is installed tomorrow it will be quieter than the Lian-Li.

I like quiet :)

Yeah there's no beating the Lian-Li's design/style and materials but this does offer better cooling and room :)

With the pc7f, remove the HDD cage from the bottom and install a better 140mm fan... Then shove this in your 5.25" drive bays. Gives you an extra 120mm front intake fan as well!

I already installed a Sharkoon Silent Eagle 140mm in it but a bit late to get that^ as the Lian-Li is on the MM now!

Ah i see :p

I was starting to get frustrated with the cooling with it, but with the hdd cage removed it's helped things along. Still cramped as hell in there though, hence the 650d ponderings!

The best bit is the SATA enclosure bay at the top, simply plonk in an SATA drive and away you go! Makes my backup routine a breeze now as I don't have to fire up the USB enclosure any more. I can now buy a data storage container to store the backup drive in and take away with me when not at home for security etc.

I'd say if you can budget for it then go for it :p I'd not have gotten it and instead gone for something less than £100 or waited longer until something better came along but I sold a few items and had some cash lying around to burn so thought why not!

Not sure how into modding your cases you are, but quite a few people say the front fan makes more noise than the top due to the mesh at the front, if you have no problem cutting that away so there's nothing blocking the fan it will probably lower the noise.

Like this.

I removed the fan entirely and have replaced it with a temp 140mm Sharkoon using the push to attach rubber prongs. Even outside of the case it's louder than the top fan and the top fan has a mesh grille too so I don't think cutting away the front grill will make a major difference, maybe a small amount though.

I can do the cutting over the weekend I guess.

600T will have more room inside :)

Those mobos looks really nice. It's amazing how the innards are transformed when all capacitors and PCB are hidden out of sight!

What's the point though if it's inferior build quality (which it is) and less space!

You can easily replace the Corsair fans with quieter ones that push more air anyway.

My fans are brown, deal with it!

I think it's an interesting fan colour and goes well with a chrome aluminium finished interior :p

No it doesn't... to the average builder it looks **** sorry but it does. I'd rather use stock than those or if not just not post pictures.

Really clean smart build but my ignorance is to much to resist being drawn towards the 1950's fans you have!

Goon84 gonna hate.

If I could then all my fans would be Noctua. I'm impressed with their performance and lack of noise so I care very little about the looks as long as they don't have flashing LEDs I'm good. It just so happens the Noctuas have a touch of retro about them and I quite like that and think it looks good!

Oh, mrk! you fancy pants. You went for a H80. You like? Also did you use the stock paste? as it's pretty good, Shin Etsu.

I really love the cooling block on the new series.
