The New Cases Gallery

Here is my build. :)

I normally run the stock fans at 7 volts using the built in controller.

When gaming I keep the front door open to let in a bit more air, I can hear my GTX 680 when gaming above the stock fans, just to try and give you an idea how quiet it is.

With the door closed it does drop the fan noise down quite a bit.

Running 2 140mm fractal fans in the front & one fractal 140mm in the top rear all off the built in fan controller, a H80I with 2 120mm vipers as an exhaust on the rear & 1 140mm viper in the bottom of the case, all the vipers are running pwm off the motherboard.

Hope this helps.

Cheers all :)

When its switched on its not truly silent, just a bit of background noise really.

But I would not put up with something that sounds like a harrier taking off sitting beside me on my desk.

Forgot to mention I have got the windowed version so there is a bit less soundproofing on the inside of the panel but it really does not make any difference sound level wise.

Cheers

With the door closed is it silent then? :)

I'm looking at a HIS 7950 IceQ Boost to go with this in the hope its fairly quiet. I wear headphones when I game so it shouldn't be an issue. I just want it to be silent when its sat on my desk and I'm browsing the internet or watching youtube or sleeping with it in the same room. (Not like that ;))

Sorry just seen your post :) On the reviews I've seen for it they state that they only know its on when the LED flashes on it, do you find thats not the case then? Is it the components inside making the noise?

Yes I sleep with mine too ;) if you put the fans on the slowest setting with the built in controller and close the door there is a slight fan noise but not something that would be really noticeable, my hdd can be heard above the case fans on the slowest setting.

And yes the components do make some noise, you can also cut out some of the noise by not adding a fan in either of the top vents as the blanking plates for them have the same sound insulation on them as what is fitted on the right hand side panel.

Sadly though don't think there is such a thing as a totally silent case :(

Cheers

Changed mine a bit, replaced the psu with a Corsair AX860i with the V2 braided cable kit. Replaced the STX soundcard with a SoundBlaster ZXR and the most costly upgrade was replacing my 7970 with a Titan.
