The MSI 980ti is 277mm long, which is just shy of the Gigabyte 3-fan design. It's bigger than I thought it would be. I really can't imagine how a 298mm long GPU is going to fit. The Sapphire Nitro cards are often even bigger than that.

The next time I open the case, I will measure it for you.. I would do it now but I need someone todo it for me, as my hands are not very steady and I can see the glass panel taking a dive to its death.

This is why i dont understand why people go for these small cases.. your just limiting yourself for future upgrades, get a real tower! :D

I dont see why people go for large cases:cool: Yeah go for a large case if your going to use all the room up. But people who has these huge cases and theres enough room to turn a double decker bus round in and that with everything in:D

I prefer things to be quite snug in a case, and to me a small case looks tidier on your desk then a huge one. At the end of the day everything is getting smaller and the minimalistic look is very much eye pleasing, or it is to me anyway.

But this is the specs of my gpu taken from the XFX website and you can see how much more room I have to spare from my pics. Sorry I cant be more helpful.

That is perfect, thank you very much. I have just seen someone else show the same thing so we're pretty much back on for the W2. Cheers!

Also, your other comment is why I'd like the W2. I don't want a massive case. I have two SSD's (one would suffice if bought a high capacity m.2 drive), two HDD's (one would suffice if I built a NAS), one GPU, standard 160mm ATX PSU, ATX (or mATX is fine) motherboard, a few fans, CPU tower, that's basically it. I don't need room for tons of drives, pumps, reservoirs, radiators, etc. I want a compact system that looks dope and doesn't have loads of ventilation holes everywhere to leak sound.

The case has a fan control on the rear of the case (12volts, off, 7volts) so you could run the case fans from the controller. You could run your fans at 7volts for a silent pc when not gaming, then whack them up to 12volts when your gaming.

I have all my drives tied down to the bottom of the case, as I wanted them on show. I have taken out the 5.25/hard drive cage out all together to make more room for cables, and I bought a USB DVD writer to use with this case, instead of using a internal one.

You're limited to three fans for the Fractal Define R4's fan controller. I intend to have five fans in the W2 so I might be better off with the Phanteks PWM splitter and have them ramp up and down with the CPU. That also means I won't have to reach around (TWSS) to the fan speed controller at the back of the case.

Thats a idea,, having the case fans on the motherboard, my only prob with that, more ugly cables showing, I have always had my fans running at full speed, I just buy the speed of fan I require and run them straight of the psu, as its easier.

If you use a fan hub and install it around the back somewhere near the hard drive cages, you should be able to route the fan cables easily back there without too much clutter. Only one PWM 4-pin then goes to the motherboard directly from the hub. We'll have to see how neat it looks once I get the build started later this year/early next year.

had to find your old post just to see what you changed sipha :P

any chance you could take a few photos of your LED placement? i have the same case and struggle to keep the front side LEDs down due to the holes and the way to front panel fits on

Hey, absolutely. I only have 2x LED strips a red one on the front edge of the case (Vertical) and a white one on the bottom edge (Horizontal). I've included 2 images of the placement of these for you:

Bottom White:

Side Red:

Cheers :)

ah yeah i see the smaller strips do work better, mine is one long strip that i ran down the back, along the bottom and then up the front but it just doesnt sit right and comes loose in parts sometimes

i have it down ok for now but i may have to invest in separate strips then

thanks sipha

Picked this up pre-built as a bargain from a chap that I know local in SE USA (ignore cable management - only setup last night)

What do folks think of the 780t case? I didn't like it first but it's growing on me. The thought is to transplant into a 540 Carbide
