The New European Super (borefest) League

I'd like to see what the courts make of breech of contract claims against the clubs too. They have signed up to terms that agree exclusivity so I'm confused why there is this apparent statement about uefa and monopoly etc. If they're just singling out competition law it seems a bit weird the courts aren't at some point going to look at other aspects too.

I remain confused why anyone thinks a super League is in any way a good thing.

I'm bored of the Premier League, I don't think the Super League is a good thing but I'd like the change.

How can the prem be boring, now of all times? Literally anyone could win it these days.
I think that couldn't be futher from the truth. In reality only 3-4 teams are in with a shot of winning it. In the last 29 years its been won by 7 clubs total. That includes 1 for each of blackburn, Leicester and Liverpool. 4 clubs split the other 26, One of those clubs (arsenal) aren't even in a position to challenge anymore and another hasn't won the prem in 8 years and is considered an outside chance to challenge.

The crux is, do uefa have a monopolistic position?

Is it fair that they can defacto ban players from competing in international competitions due to the actions of the clubs that hold their contract ?

The fifa/uefa charade has been going on for a long time now.

Still, it's more competitive than it used to be. So to be suddenly bored by it is strange.

In the last ten years, 5 different clubs have won it. I guess we could roll back to the 90s when it was just utd I guess.

Do you think the prem is boring?
What 5 clubs are they?

Also the title Is always just a 1 or 2 horse race.

Out of those 10 year's, when was there 3 teams or more fighting for your title in the last 3 games of the season?

And Blackburn and Arsenal, with Newcastle only just missing out in that comedy collapse at the end. And weren't one or two of those Utd wins right at the death at Arsenal's expense?

Leicester 2015-2016
Chelsea 2016-2017
Man City 2017-2018,2019-2020
Liverpool 2017-2019

so that's four in the last 5 years, and Man Utd last won it in what, 2012/2013 so that is 5 in the last 10 years in fairness to him.

I can't remember all the seasons in detail, and there were definitely a few clear runaways but wasn't 2017-2018 decided on the last match of the season?

2015-2016 had 3 teams in it until and the title only went to Leicester in the last 3 games. Spurs were pushing, and Arsenal snapping at their heals in turn. Leicester were the pace setter though and it was down to the other two to deliver. Arsenal beat Leicester twice I think that season too which incensed their fans even more when we won it. If the video of their fans at their AGM is still available have a watch. Spurs slumping to 3rd was comedy though - the office banter was strong that season with St Totteringham's Day loudly celebrated by certain members of the team to the chargrin of a few others.

Last season was a bit of a runaway but then covid has ruined the last 2 years anyway for the most part.

Last season was two halves. For the first half it really did look like it could have been anyone's but then city turned it up and ran away with it. Anyone who argues that the prem used to be better than it is are just sour Utd fans.

I enjoyed United winning the league a lot but as I have got older I have cared more about the football than the results. I don't care if we lose as long as we played well. Thats why I didn't get the same joy a lot of people did out of the Euros I think. The final was just like watching a replay of the **** show that was the Europa League final a month earlier. Watching a superior team limp to a loss because they don't have the guts to go for it.

Ditto Fez, i'm a united fan and I honestly don't care who wins it. I like watching good football. Klopp's Liverpool have been brilliant and the standard for me until last season. Poch's spurs up until his last season were great to watch. The Leicester title season was unreal, seeing how quickly they could cut through a team on the counter.

I'd forgive united going trophy-less if it wasn't such a dire display and a test of attention for 90minutes. Solskjaer is no different to Southgate, all the resource but quite frankly afraid and devoid tactically. I really don't expect us to be any different this year, there'll be moments of spark amongst 90 minutes of incoherence.

On point - the PL has been entertaining throughout the last 10 years if you're not blinded by bias.

Pretty sure if you don't care who wins you aren't a fan. It's fine to just like football as a neutral.

You're right Shami, probably little blasé with the 'don't care'... I'd like Untied to win it but I'm not going to begrudge another team winning it if we're playing good football. I understand the polarising aspect of being a supporter for one team and not wanting another team to do well... but at the end of the day for me football is entertainment when I'm watching it.

I actually became bored during our peak dominance and only watched the cup and champions league games really.

And I'm as neutral as they come because Derby are a shower of *****. Having decent football in the PL to watch is enjoyable and inspirational, particularly given all the home grown talent we have in top squads.

But you have Wayne Rooney in charge. The sky is the limit! One thing I always thought about Wayne was that he would definitely make a master tactician and motivator of men.
