Rang Jacobs on Monday as was fed up with waiting with Jessops...left my my name with them, and had a phone call on Wednesday if i still want it
give them a call.
Most likely, they wont know when they will be expecting delivery...
I gave them my name at first and asked for a call back once they get them and have free stock.
Have to say, that it is not even 100g lighter, you can feel the difference
And I love new shutter sound and feel...I will get used to it, but for the moment, it feels so gooooood after each click ;D
later on will post a sample image in d800 thread at 6400ISO of my cat that was looking at me from bathroom where light was switched off...I could baerly see it, but photo looks like it was daken in day light ;D
oh...and need bigger and faster CF cards ;D and maybe time to start using USB3 ;D

I gave them a call as soon as they opened this morning and turned out they had one left down South that someone had failed to collect so it's now winging its way up here. Managed to cancel my other order with no problems as well.

As long as it feels as comfortable as the D700 then I'll be happy. Hopefully it does sound good as you say. I know it's a small thing but I never did like the sound of the D700. Nothing comes close to the sound of the D70 though, imo.
I'm going to have to look at upgrading some cards as well. My 16gb cards aren't really going to hold too many photos now.
