Just picked up a really nice Zeiss 50mm 1.7, adapted for 5D.

Colours and contrast straight out of camera are stunning. Haven't needed to do any PP at all on the photos I've taken. At 1.7 center is dead sharp, stopped down to 2.8 it's tack sharp corner to corner.

Deffault RAW: here's at f2.8 (focused on dragonfly at minimum focusing distance - 60cm)

...And 100% crop.

Nice shot. What body do you use?
I was looking at this lens too as an alternative to the Canon version which is about twice the price!
Optically is it any different to the older non OS version Sigma did? I've seen a used one of this.
