V-Spec, that post made me go all gooey eyed.
So I'm assuming thats a MF digital camera? if this because you couldnt get the film anymore? I remember you posting about it a little while ago.
Yeah, digital medium format (645) 40MP,
There were a number of reasons but the main reason was the halt in production of sheet velvia 50 5x4 a few years ago - I had a freezer full, but it's now almost depleted.
Also, I've become fed up of carrying the large-format pack, with everything in including tripod it weighs around 65-70lb - there are a number of reasons for switching, but the lack of film, overall weight and cost of processing/scanning have tipped me over the edge,
Nice underwater rig, when I was at the BWPA a while ago I saw some of Alex Mustard's work - really awesome underwater photography,
Yeah I can appreciate the weight issue, I've stopped taken my DSLR abroad unless its a specific photography trip - I now take the Olympus. Weighs 1/5th of the DSLR. It's refreshing to not heft it around
Thanks, I can't wait to use it in anger next week.
There's a bunch of people who go out diving around the Farne islands photographing the seals under water, some pretty amazing shots come out of them - also some amazing places around Scotland and Shetland where the waters are very clear (25M visibility) so you could certainly get some great stuff up there - if you can deal with the cold
I've got a drysuit, fully prepped for UK diving.
Also taking my gf to the Farne Islands for her birthday in September for the weekend, it's going to be awesome!
Hoping for a cuddle! http://vimeo.com/78209843
looks like so much fun! I'll be in Arizona in September for a 3 week photography trip, so hopefully we'll both get some l33t shots,

it is a great experience diving with the seal pups , they're so inquisitive and playful, I'm sure you'll love it
Can't wait! - I hear they like to nibble fins as well
Some will try and nip any part of your kit they like the look of, including your dry suit, I had one obsessed with chewing my arm and I had to give it a forceful shove in the face to get rid
They may also latch onto your leg, funny at first but they're strong and it saps energy trying to manoeuvre heh, some may also mimic your actions if you're lucky and others like to play hide and seek
They're very like mischievous puppies
So my Canon 6D arrived today
