The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

That looks like one big grip!

Yeah its huge but I've got massive hands so the extra weight at the bottom gives me a lot more resistance meaning more of my shots don't come out like I've got parkinson's :D

Thats like a 1/3 of your camera hight already. Whats the full weight of that with batteries (no lens)

Not sure on the weight but its 16 cm's from the bottom of the grip to the top of the viewfinder.

I'm getting dirty thoughts about the 5D3...again

Looking up I can get about £1150-£1200 for my camera + grip...so I'd still need around £1500 for the camera then a further £300 for the grip.

So £1800 layout.

Damn :(

£2300 on DR :D

Do it Do it Do it :D

Never been 100% with DR...always been worried it'd get caught!

I don't have the money right now anyway...so it's something I need to plan for. I WILL have one for Iceland next year.

Next year? I thought you were going this year when you mentioned it last year? :D

My weak willpower has resulted in me ordering another lens :|

Now have two lenses on their way to me! 100mm Macro L lens and a 40mm STM Pancake :D mmmmm pancakes

I'd love a macro lens because my 17-55 isn't really useful under a metre distance but I really have no idea what I'm looking at with regards marco's :D

Well as far as Canon lenses, that 100mm 2.8L macro lens seems to be the one to get... (from what I've read anyway! :P ) Not particularly cheap though! The non L version also seems to be pretty good for the money but makes handheld use harder due to the lack of image stabilisation.

New case arrived today, customisable foam, what's not to like? :)
