The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Shame the Xpro-1 has so many pitfalls as the sensor is delicious.

Overpriced too.

You 100% sure you want to sell your Canon kit to fund it?

Oh! How much? Where from? Colour and foam or dividers?

I'm buying from the rain forest, I went for black, with dividers and the lid organiser. Now I have the mk2 and mk3 I will be shooting almost every project with both bodies. This will help tremendously with keeping all of my gear organised.

The lid organiser is going to be really handy. I'll mark pouches for charged and flat batteries, full and empty cards, and odds and sods that I always take with me like torches, cable ties, tape, and my trusty Leatherman. I love the fact that I can stand on it or use it to sit on when I'm tripod mounted... Can't wait to get it to be honest!!

Should be here next week...

Next purchase 70-200 f2.8 IS or the 24-105 IS... Still deciding what I need the most first!! It's a tough one.

T* not L Glass for a Change

Well a change from seeing L glass thought I'd post something a little left field ;)..

Just had delivery of the first of my two Lenses I've won on the bay...

So here we have a Contax Carl Zeiss T* 100mm F2.8 Macro Lens.... :)

Never had a proper Macro lens before so will be bit of learning and experimenting.

My 70-300 is in Customs getting it's duty slapped on it !! :(
And still looking for the 50mm F1.4 at a sensible price.....

How much did the peli come to? Your one with dividers and lid organiser is the exact one I want to get.

Raymond, WEX photographic search 1560.

To answer the other question, the difference is purely the size. The 1560 is larger and deeper, therefore can hold quite a bit more gear. That's why I went for that one.

That's pretty good price, the 1510 with dividers I was looking at is £230 already, I was looking at the 1610 actually but that might be a bit too big. I am at a stupid (not a bad necessarily) situation where my thinktank is too small to hold all the gear, do I split it in 2 cases or get something similar size and put some in each? Like lenses in one and body and bits in the other?

Decisions!

The 1610 is substantially larger... I wanted the ability to carry my gear if necessary.. With the 1510 & 1560 that's doable... The 1610 and things start to get awkward and very hwavy. The 1560 balances the pros and cons nicely!

Yup, I've seen that thread, and i can't decide on a colour!

My thinktank is carry on size so I am debating do I need another carry on size Peli? Or get something bigger? 1560 seems to be a good size...

Black is the only colour to consider, the Olive and Desert Tan look to military and Orange is more appropriate for a Scuba diver.. Black is classy and looks more professional. Well that's why I went for Black!!

Noticed the 70-200mm F2.8 IS II I got had a hairline scratch on the front element when took it out :(

Was perfectly straight and 1cm in length, Amazon are awesome, acknowledged and sending a new one out to me.
