***THE NEW KING - GTX 590 IS HERE!***

Because we are the mugs of the world.. "Oh dw, we can charge Europe/UK 1.5 times as much as they should be paying, they are mugs", generally how it works :@

GTX 590 EVGA @ EVGAUSA = 729.99 USD = ~£450
GTX 590 EVGA @ EVGAEU = 679.90 EU = ~£595
OCUK = £614

150 quid more per card GG

Remember USA is before TAX (admittedly it differs state to state and its not much, but it is a little more) and we have import tax to pay.

But yes, you are generally right.

In before fanboys fighting that each is better... :)

Having looked at the reviews negating games which run better on ati or nvidia the new gtx 590 seems just slightly faster then the 6990 and lets face it should because it houses two gtx 580's and in most cases unless your going to be playing at a higher res then 2,560 x 1,600 were the extra 1 gb of memory helps out the 6990, excluding money being a issue you will probaly want the gtx 590 but then again 6990 being 100 pounds cheaper means u could buy a really nice aftermarket cooler/water block for it. both tempting cards its just personal choice !

Fun fact: the GTX590 is priced at $699 as is the 6990.

this card has apparrent pro's and cons to the 6990, though if I were inclined to chose i'd get the 6990 and stick it under water. IMO massively improved crossfire scaling is nvidia's deadly enemy

To be fair though if you were planning to stick it under water you would get much nicer performance per clock from the fermi, so it would probably make more sense to get a 590. In fact this would almost definitely outperform a 6990, unless the extra vram is required.

Except that some reviewers have blown up their 590s trying to overvolt them, which might make water cooling to try and get that extra performance out of them a waste of time.

Really? Im not having any issues and scaling is good. :confused:

Fair enough the review I read was from when Surround first came out, seems Crossfire has got better since then :)

:eek:

They mention the following:

IMPORTANT: The supplied Geforce Drivers 267.52 for Geforce GTX 590 will not stop the card from overheating when overclocking. Please use newer versions from the Nvidia website and stay away from 267.52. Otherwise this may happen ...
