I have, quite possibly, found the best program ever.

Hamachi. It creates a VPN over the internet whereby you can play players all around the world on LAN mode!

I'm playing with 2 others at the moment from the USA :)

http://www.hamachi.cc

Download, install, set up then in C&C3, go to the Network options and choose the IP as the 5.* one.

I've got a network set up on it at the moment and anyone else is more than welcome to join:
- Name: OpticalGaming.com

Rubbish. It's just a networking tool.

On it's own it has nothing to do with copyright infringement. A quick search of the forums shows how people have been talking about it for ages.

So what's the multiplayer field like? I used to play RA1 and TibSun over modem with a few mates but I've never battled the general public. Is it all tank rushes or more sophisticated?

All depends on the players style mate, I know I'm the sort that gets a strong base with defences and a good amount of cash before I go rolling in

Hmm. Coming from RA it was always about building a screen full of tanks faster than your opponent, with the odd cheeky engineer attack if your oponent was being a bit lazy with base defense. Playing this new game a lot of the SP missions and even skirmishes boil down to holding off assaults while building as many Mammoths as possible, but maybe that's just my play style.

I'm quite fond of taking 3 or 4 Nod Shadow units round the back of the enemy base and taking out what ever I can get my hands on. Seems to be the best way to inflict cheap damage early on with minimal unit loss.

There should be some better base defences, the whole rush tactic is fun it's just that if you defend against it with your army then you'll end up having next to nothing to get them back with.

Engineer rushes in APC's work rather well I've found :D

Only against poor players. Last few who tried that on me ended up with their bases demolished by my Mammoths. As usual, ranked matches are a rush fest as it's easiest way of winning and getting the points. If you don't want rush play Custom for a better/longer game.

Not had a look at the Kane bonus dvd yet, is there anything worth seeing on it? I would just put it in but I'm at work atm....

It's up and working wonderfully now :)

Multiplayer?

Mine's still buggered - I'm pretty much convinced that it's Tiscali blocking the ports or something. I've been getting "cannot connect to backend server" for nearly a week now.

well, the last couple of days it's been buggy and there servers have been down, but patch 1.03 and there servers are now back up, which should mean the problems your end. Some ISp's do block the ports need and if you have a router that could be the problem.

Cant see anything on there forum about tiscali at the moment.
