The *New* Official C&C3 Thread

I'm not liking the online play base is way too weak needs like 100 times more
armour its just a rush fest at the mo will go back to it in a while games rarely last longer than a few minutes its a bit silly if you ask me the worst one is the scrin base rush you can win in 30 seconds.

Looking forward to the patch, looks like there's some good stuff to come...

Added a "Classic Command & Conquer (Left-Click Orders) mouse interface option, which may be selected in the General tab of the Settings menu.
At last!!!

GDI Refinery, Nod Refinery, and Scrin Extractor sale price reduced by 70% to 300 credits.
I assume that means if you sell it, not the 'for sale' price....

· GDI Defensive Tower tech structure's attack power increased by 60%.
hmmmm

Mammoth Tank: Speed reduced by 7%. Attack power of rockets reduced by 25%. Rate of fire with
Railguns upgrade reduced by 35%. Attack power with Railguns upgrade increased by 35%.
Railguns: Upgrade cost increased by 66% to 5000.
 quite a few changes to the mammoth! upgrade is expensive though!

· Zone Trooper Drop Pods: Support Power cost increased by 50% to 4500.
ouch!

· Mothership: Attack power increased by 100%. Catalyst Cannon now causes a faster, wider chain reaction. Damage sustained by the Mothership has less impact on the power of its attack.
:D lol

· Some structures on each side no longer provide Ground Control for base expansion. These include: Power Plants, Reactors, Tiberium Silos, Barracks, Hands of Nod, and Portals.

Nice to see that silo/powerplant rushing will be prevented.

bugger i've been known to do that with sonic emitters :p

Gonna be a great patch, can start playing with random team now they are more balanced ;d

I also found this crazy 1v1 map yesterday. Its tiny - so tiny you can see the opponents con yard when you build the first few units! Managed to beat AI on brutal but was good laugh.

I want to know wtf they mean by.

Some campaign missions have been tuned and rebalanced.

I would imagine very easy missions are slightly harder, and very hard missions are slightly easier...

I'm stuck on the NOD mission where you have to capture the GDI & alien bases with a handful of shadows and sabs.

I get as far as capturing the first GDI base, then the aliens wipe out the other GDI base and the lose.

Any ideas? (apart from i'm crap!)

Don't forget you can get your engineers in there and next to the building you want and capture it with no hassle. It's only when you attack the gdi that you're in trouble.

Then just tech up to mammoths and roll them to the top base ASAP. Or at least until the skrin have weakened their base so you don't get attacked there too.

ok this is what I had to do.

Build enough engineers so you have a group of 15 and once positioned next to each capturable base (Including the deployed Rig) get the shadow teams next to the Anti Infantry turrets.

Then go into planning mode (CTRL+Z) and have the engineers go into the structures they are next to and then tell the shadow teams to blow up the anti infantry turrets then press CTRL+Z again and they should do it all at once and then all you have to do is build a Tech Centre.

Once thats done get some mammoths out of both of the war factories (About 4-6 Total (2-3 from each)) and whilst they are building get the Railgun upgrade and then by the time they are ready and they are near the other GDI base you should have the railgun upgrade which should kill anything the enemy has sent over or are in the process of coming over.

This mission really really REALLY ****** me off and it took me about 30-60m to come up with a strategy that was quick and efficient.

Quick Notes.

1. The first GDI base (South West) after you send the mammoths up to the other GDI base build another 4-6 and about 2 Sonic Emitters because every now and then you get the Tripod things come there and once they are dead send some engineers over to their corpses and you get free heavy units so you can just send them over to the war factory to get repaired.

2. Before you start the mammoths going you might want to get 1 or 2 extra harvesters to keep up.

3. If there is still some infantry near by you can roll out 1 or 2 APC but they shouldnt really do much damage.

Hope this helps.

Shame you cannot save mission replays lol.

Edit
I dont know how this got posted because it come up with error so I restarted but forgot to copy and paste before I shut down windows  , was about to kill myself but thought what the hell I will see if it went through.

Additional patch notes:

-GDI Engineers, Nod Saboteurs, and Scrin Assimilators now capture enemy structures or repair allied structures as soon as they reach the edge of the structures.

-Online lobbies getting renamed.

-A fix to a bug with multi-monitor setups, and a fix to a bug that caused some players to see the wrong ending to the GDI campaign.

-It is no longer possible to stall an online multiplayer match by repeatedly pressing the Capture Screenshot hotkey.
Patch is due out by the end of the month.

Good, about time too.

That little glitch really annoys me. Hopefully this fix should encourage some more inventive engineer rushes.

Yeah! So annoying when your engineer dies when he's almost to the centre of the structure.

How did you get on with that mission SB118

Tried the "loads of sabs" method 8 times. 1 - 3 were a matter of getting near the base and the turrets mowing them down. 4 -7 were a rush with sabs and shadows. All getting killed the moment the turrets had them in range.

Attempt 8 and the turrets didn't seem to "see" them and i just walked in and nabbed the whole place.

Once i was in the first base it was a breeze (breeze = 20 bombers :D)

End of NOD is a bit wet, but now i've started the scrin stuff, woohoo new toys :D

It's like I said, they only attack you - if you attack them first. Getting your sabs in there is no trouble, then you just set up the planning mode to capture all the buildings at once.
Easy when you know how :(

Even when i walked the sabs in there quietly the turrents would wipe them out in a few seconds, never got near the buildings.

Then one round they just didn't "see" me.
