question to those who play multilpayer:
How do you normally organise your forces?
I normally seperate my forces, i'll have the tanks as their own unit, and the foot soldiers as their own unit. Each of these two units will be split up to 'cover' a certain area. Unless im attacking, then i'll gather a large amount of tanks (mammoths) and push them forward.
another question just came to mind. a lot of the time, i'll push the tanks forward, with a wish for them to simply get to a certain area, occupy it, and kill any enemy within distance. I selected one of the strategies, think its 'force attack' or something, yet they attack in a crap way. Only some of the tanks in the unit will fire. The only way to get them to all fire as a unit is for me to right click on the target. The thing is i don't want to have to baby each unit as i need to organise the rest at the same time.
Like last night, i was playing against a friend via hamachi on a 2 player map. I gathered 6 mammoth tanks at my base, scrolled to the area where his base should be and right clicked for them to all move their as a unit. I had to follow them the whole way, because when they encounter enemy, they hardly respond. Anyway, im right clicking on any enemy we encounter, so my tanks all attack that enemy at once, when that enemy dies, i click on the destination which is his base again. This takes a while, we get to his base eventually and were getting massacred. I scroll back to my base and i notice a load of his foot soldiers just standing in my base, around my construction yard, not attacking, just standing there. The thing is, i had a lot of foot soldiers and a few tanks who didn't even care that they were there as they weren't attacking them. I got my foot soldiers and tanks on base to attack them, kill them, then join in the attack with the mammoths. We won in the end, found out the reason why my friends foot soldiers were just standing around on my base is because he was in a rush as he needed to **** and forgot to right click on his target lol.
Thanks for experiencing this touching moment with me, now if anyone can offer any advice, other than on my writing style, that would be appreciated
