The *New* Official C&C3 Thread

well that last nod mission was rubbish .

Ok it was stupidly hard took me 6 attempts. But the last mission should always be how big an army you can make to take out there HUGGGEEE base. that was like a beginner mission do this, defend that..

im on a wired network at home with just 2 pc's but can't C&C3 working online. it lets me login and it even looks for plays but once it says players found it then says "command and conquer 3 unable to connect to other players.... because of NAT address stuff..." its just a standard little belkin 4 port router. If i disconnect the router and plug myself straight into the NTL box then it will let me play but this is no good cause we need both pc's online.

any ideas?

Yeah it wasn't very satisfiying was it. Especially stupid when you have to defend a base that attacks you at the same time though.

yeh that got my goat up , defend the top of there base. you can't go through there base without, destroying it, and that means you have to go around which means you get caught up by there airbase.

It gives you no time to build any good units. I won by spamming about 200 buggies with the laser upgrade, that seemed to work rather well.

Yeah same as me, but I used the laser upgrade and helicopters. However I waited until they had overrun the base and were attacking the final 'building' before moving in to 'help'.

The final gdi mission was better.

LMFAO, I forgot to take a picture.

just had a comp stomp 2 of us versus 6 comps. I won with over 100 planetary defence carriers.

You couldn't see the screen with the swarm when I was attacking

you could always use Hamachi to create a virtual LAN which should work

i no this game isnt the most demanding game in the world, but would i be able to have like 8 player battles with hundreads and hundreads of units attacking each other etc?

Would you, as in physically within the game, or would your system cope with? Your system will run it all max, no problems. I tend to find that even large games don't have 'hundreds and hundreds' of units, as a few of the easier players go out quite quick.

Hamachi Does work, had three of us on it the other day, LAN supports a max of 8 players iirc.

oh, ok, just in red alert 2, i used to have really big battles with thousands of units dying etc.

it won't happen yet, when they release some map packs and if you find the right people then yep might happen, only time you'll get it now is an easy comp stomp.

I feel that the units these days are some what stronger, so you don't really lose as many, or need as many.
Although I don't really remember having huge battles in the past. I guess it depends on your playing style.

How're people faring against the Brutal computer as an enemy? I'm finding it difficult. Successfully defeated it 1v1 with a rush. Had a 5 friends v 2 brutal enemies and that was hell hard.

We played a 2 vs 3 brutals and won it with ease. The key is to have 2 pads of Firehawks at the ready to take out their Temples of Nod just before it launches.

Use the Sonic base defense and Watchtowers.

Research the railgun upgrade.

Build 5 mammoths and leave them near your base defense to increase their rank.

By now you should have around 4 refineries and about 6-8 harvesters. Now start building up an attack force.

Always use an engineer to capture any Avatar Husks, they are extremely good when paired with a mammoth rush army.

Yeah, no rushing though. This was just one long ass battle. Fun though. It's easy if you rush but no fun imo. Was extremely difficult first time, but alright second.

Anyone else find MCV rushing online really annoying and pointless?

I'm loving the singleplayer so far, the Scrin have just appeared :)

I've found that one of the best strategies is to keep the same units on your defensive lines to get their rank up, then once you get a small army of veteran units you can do a hefty amount of damage.

That's in singleplayer mind, not really tried skirmish/multiplayer yet.
