The new Samsung Odyssey G9 Mini Led

Same here, stuck at preparing for dispatch. No emails about delays although I did get the text message instead last week.
I doubt it will be delivered tomorrow.

I noticed the Neo is no longer available to pre-order on the website now

The "too dark near black" is a known problem with OLED. The voltage required for that low of near-black pixel brightness is very hard to get right, so shadow details and near black stuff doesn't turn out so good. I noticed this when I had my PG32UQX right next to my 48CX OLED, the PG32 looked quite a bit better in near-black/dark scene detail.

Never knew this up until now! All this time all I heard was that OLED's give perfect blacks, but never heard anything about it being too dark in some situations

OLED looks better in this side by side. It's doing true black. More natural colours too. Still impressive from the Mini Led though!

Yeah for sure, the overall picture over the video the OLED is the winner. But the MiniLED definitely performed well

Had the dispatch note too.
I guess the popping on the last version was the heat from the display causing the shroud to expand. I think the 10 big dimming zones might have produced more heat than the mini leds, except in that video it was a mostly white screen running full 240hz so, hopefully, worst case scenario it might only do it when properly stressed and not in day to day use?

Also just had the dispatch email! Rather shocked, didn't think it was going to be shipped until closer to the 19th.

On the popping issue, my g9 had it a lot when I first got it but after a few months it rarely happens if at all so I'm hoping it's just a minor occurrence.

Video comparing the Neo G9 to the LG OLED C1, quite amazing!

You can almost argue that sometimes the OLED levels of black are in fact too dark and dont always show what you need it to. For example at 12 seconds in the video, the OLED clothing you cant even really make out what it is, whereas on the miniLED it looks how its supposed to
You can never go that much by these video's as it will never be the same as what you see in real life

For example many people here will most likely be looking at the blacks of that OLED in this video on an LCD ;)

The Neo has a higher power consumption than the normal G9, so this means more heat.

Of course! It was just a general comparison to see what they look side by side, but its likely nowhere near what you would be seeing in person
