The New Tomb Raider

Yeah, they have a paid early access beta locked to 30fps and 900p. The full game is released on PC early next year with full HD and no framerate cap.

Really enjoyed the reboot so will definitely be picking this up when it comes to PC. As above though I played with M&K and there were a couple of times when the QTE didn't say which key to press.

Shame the new game only has 9 tombs & is more of the same as the 2013 game :( The focus is still the lame combat & QTE action sequences.

MS must be taking a massive financial hit for this game to pay for exclusivity for a few months

The Tomb Raider reboot is an Uncharted rival built for a new generation of gamers too young to remember the original Tomb Raider games. Those of us old enough to remember are in the minority and need to realise this is just the name and character carried into a different game.

But that asside, I loved the first one, and can't wait for the second to come to PC.

At least they have not forced the everybody asked for it  MP component this time & given us 9 (count em :( )Tombs to explorer. Some of those are DLC as well

Make a tomb raider without the lame qte's and focused gunplay and more like the totally classic amazing original tomb raider on PlayStation, then you can take my money. Tomb Raider these days is not Tomb Raider to me, Tomb Raider should always be focused on puzzles and discovery with amazing areas and atmospheric music. How I miss you Tomb Raider

There are puzzles in this too, there are also lots of great gun play and the QTE fits in well in otherwise what would just been long cut scenes.

It is a perfect blend of them all. The days of pure puzzles tomb raider back in PS1 days are long gone, games evolve and the Rise of the Tomb Raider has too, in a good way.

p.s. playing this on XB1 and it's great !

For me Tomb Raider hasn't evolved, it's done the complete opposite. Personally for me, it feels lame having to go to a specified location in the form of a tiny room to find and solve puzzles. It seems games these days are becoming so dumbed down which kinda reflect where we are as a society. When I was a teen playing TR, the whole game was one giant puzzle, it was huge and took weeks to finish a single area, when you did it was such an incredible feeling. Not sure if you played the game, but areas like the Cystern when you entered them gave you a wow, you knew this next area was going to take more time and thought than the previous. Then when you move on again and saw the next epic area, with all the atmospheric music, it was an absolute joy. Sadly that's all gone, everything these days needs to hold your hand through it, whilst making it a wow on the eyes and not a wow on the brain.

Or maybe you just weren't a very bright kid and now you're grown up the puzzles come a little easier?* ;)

I find the reboot to be a much more enjoyable experience then I found the original games, not a huge fan of QTE's but I never felt they got in the way too much, rather they were gone completely though.

As for the overall game, it has much more depth to it and while a little more on the 'tomb raiding' would be nice it really does blend a lot of things together very well, was one of my top games of that year and puts many games we've had in 2015 to shame, looking forward to the newest instalment.

*this is a joke.
