The next big MMO

Try, The Secret World not your usual run of the mill MMO made by the same people who made AOC (which i might point out was awesome till the first expansion pack screwed it over)

Forget EVE, unless you can dedicate 2 years of playing it hardcore to actually make a difference.

The best game ever was Star Wars Galaxies (pre combat upgrade). I doubt there will ever be a game as good, at least not for a long time. MMOs have been simplified for the masses since WoW came out.

I am only waiting for Camelot Unchained which had a kickstarter start today....not bothered about anything else.

I was looking forward to Otherland but unfortunately that's not in limbo as the software house has gone into insolvency.
And I agree you will always be drawn back to your first MMO, in my case Neocron, which is actually better now than it was 5 years ago.

Ive never got the big fuss about eve, i thought it was tripe!

Someone mentioned secret world, very different MMO and by that i just mean its not a copy/paste of wow.
If you want something similar to wow but not then id try rift, its one of the few thats actually lasted and not gone F2P, however the population is lower when compared to wow.

Am still playing AoC, still a great game after 5 years IMO. A have tried WoW,Tera,TSW, SW:ToR and GW2 but keep going back, in my eye i has one of the best combat systems.

Although am very interested in Elders Scroll Online :D:D

Looking forward to seeing what this CyberPunk one will turn out like, I would agree BF series is really loosing it's touch.

Elder scrolls will be cool but i dont see it lasting. I see it more of an old republic scenario.

Completely disagree. The Elder Scrolls is a household name now just like Star Wars (albeit not as popular). The best thing about TES though is that every single fan is a gamer, as they have to be as it's a game! Not the same situation with Star Wars. If TESO has a userbase 5% the size of the Skyrim sales figures it'll do very well indeed.

I tried CBT4 of Archeage with some Russian mates and really liked it but it still was run here hand in here which took the shine of an otherwise very interesting game. The game I am looking forward to most likely however will never be released: World of Darkness. Come on CCP drop Dust and get on with what matters!

I'm looking out for Lineage Eternal, but that's about it.

The FPS genre has grown really stale, we need a futuristic BF game again like 2142 to spark some new life into the genre, modern warfare is just, so boring.

It is true in regards to first MMO as mine was Lineage 2 and i absolutely loved it. I couldn't played that type of game nowadays though as the grind is just to big.

If i look back at all the MMO's since Lineage2/WoW i think the only one i've seriously enjoyed is Rift. Which has been IMO the only game since WoW that has had a healthy amount of subs after the initial few months and has kept their player base.

Due to Rift being as good as it was i've just bought Defiance as Trion deserve another go at showing what they can do. We will see how it turns out but the concept and gameplay at the moment is good/fun.

F2P model is doing well at the moment, but are for the more casual gamers around. I at the moment do not see myself going back to sub based games as there are plenty of free ones and also buy then play for free ones that are around to give me my gaming fix.

My hopes aren't high for it, but when Everquest Next comes out I'll be jumping in for a bit. It'll never recapture the immersion of the first, or some of the good points about EQ2 but they created a great universe.

^^this^^

I've just started playing secret world and I really really am enjoying it the vice acting on the characters is superb best I've seen/heard in a mmo yet easily, storyline's are great the quests can be very technical and lots of puzzle stuff to keep u thinking loads of fake site and so they have made for the game to give u hints and so on.

Great way of doing skills and points in the end u can spec every single skill and unlock everything so u just have to have decent weapons and u can play any class if u wish dungeons also.

Give it a go no subscription fee either.

ESO will fail, they are promising a lot of things that is pretty hard to not be excited about, but ultimately the things that made it a success in the single player RPG experience are being abandoned for the multi player experience.

Next big MMO? I can’t see where its coming from. Possibly Defiance, as its got a TV in conjunction, but probably not.
