lol.

Queen should just dissolve parliament, take direct control of the country and schedule another GE in a year when the political parties have had enough time to get their **** in order.

Surprisingly doesn't seem that bad on option compared with the state of parliament... Don't think we actually have a party that has completely made up its mind apart from UKIP... and they're the last people we want in parliament.

Surely got to be an 'out campaigner'? That's why Cameron is supposedly stepping down, so feels pointless if he's replaced by someone who sided with remain.

That's far from being the worst idea I've heard recently.

While I said it half in jest - far from the worse thing that could happen at the moment is having a hand picked body of people tasked with seeing us through the exit and running the country in the meantime instead of what appears to be a fractured and ineffective political body.

You have a situation where all bar none have ruined their political capital, with a poisoned chalice as the prize. But some messed up less than others, and the Tory party has a decent legacy of throwing up oddballs in these contests, since the members do not control the filtering stages of the leadership election.

I personally think Cameron should be brought to account for his actions, he as a Prime Minister should have remained completely impartial, instead he tried (And failed badly) to use his position to promote Remain, he MUST have been made aware as a PM that Leave could against all the odds of the pressure of the Govt. and Main-Stream media win the Vote.

He as a Prime Minister took on the responsibility for taking tough decisions, decisions that may or may not personally agree with, instead he chose to be reckless, he was reckless when he offered the Referendum to stop his Party losing to UKIP, he was reckless in the extreme in taking sides (It matters not which side) and then to cap it all when things did not go his way he immediately resigns, he effectively did a childish 'It's my ball and I'm taking it home now' and completely passes the buck, knowing full well at such a critical time that stability and re-assurances were needed for both the Country and the wider Global audience.

A disgraceful dereliction of duty and should be held accountable for it.

Unlike some other leaders who just cling onto power for the sake of it he's done the honourable thing and resigned as Prime Minister what else do you want? A jail term?

It was also a flash of tactical brilliance he and Osborne are well known for. They underestimated the play against them, the play against them underestimated them. He literally had nothing to lose anymore when he stepped down.
