The next Labour leader thread

According to Labour MP Chris Bryant, Jeremy Corbyn many well have voted leave.

"Mr Bryant today told the BBC: 'The truth is, I've tried to make this work. I didn't support Jeremy for the leadership, I have done my level best as shadow leader of the House to take the fight to the Conservatives.
'But the truth is Jeremy's management of the campaign in the referendum left many voters on polling day not even knowing which way Jeremy himself was going to vote.
'I suspect Jeremy may have voted to leave - not only is that a betrayal of Labour's historic position on the European Union, a fundamental economic and foreign policy objective of ours.'"

Corbyn should continue to drink Blairite tears for as long as possible, someone has to tell them that they should just join the Tory's for what they want.

Well he would say that because he's trying to undermine him....

57 Labour parliamentary candidates from 2015 - including nine from Scottish seats - have signed a letter calling on Corbyn to go

I'm amazed that the PLP are conducting themselves in such an undignified manner at the moment.

The call for another leadership contest, in which Corbyn will stand, isn't a bad one really. Just chucking him out without a contest would be a single middle finger, raised in mocking salute, to the Labour party members who elected Corbyn.

If they could have gone in that direction without the current metaphorical bloodbath they might have come out of this with some credibility.

Westminster politicians from all sides currently doing themselves no favours at the moment.

The thing is, Corbyn will walk a leadership contest without even trying. Which he shouldn't really, he should just get on with his job while others play games at their own expense.

after watching pmq's labour still seem to be up for blaming everyone but themselves. if this carry's on the snp will be the official opposition.

They should get it over with asap, tbh. Whoever wins, wins, and that's that till the next election. I still suspect it'll end up Corbyn, for the simple reason that Labour always has preferred to go down with the ship, Ed being only the most recent example. After that we'll see. Nonetheless, losing a general election should be his last test. This split in the official opposition cannot carry on indefinitely.

Having listened to the PM's statement to the house this afternoon and Corbyn's response, I thought the contrast between them stark.
Cameron seems to have accepted the inevitable and acted accordingly by resigning yet Corbyn struck me as "Crisis? What Crisis?" despite 2/3 of the Shadow Cabinet resigning.

Corbyn seems hell bent on sticking to his guns (despite not doing so during the referendum, he's never been pro EU) despite the damage this is doing to both his party and the country by adding to the atmosphere of uncertainty and instability, he's proved already by his actions that he's not a credible leader of a party never mind the country.

the issue they seem to have is corbyn was voted for by the wider labour party, the mp's are the ones who seem to want rid of him as they know best. some mp's better watch out as they will end up being booted out of office come the next election if the mood of the wider labour party is the same as some of the labour electorate.
