Hrm I get the impression that Engadget weren't very impressed with the 3DS. The fact they are stating that they will be spending the majority of their time with the 3D slider down to off doesn't exactly sound great! Sounds like the 3D aspect isn't working as expected. The talk of having to lock your arms into position also sounds ridiculous! I expect that your head will need to be in a sweet spot but from the sounds of it that sweet spot area is tiny.

I feared this might happen as soon as I heard the news Nintendo were creating a 3D system. These early reports of headaches also doesn't sound good at all. News of the 3DS being a cause of headaches and migraines could really hurt Nintendo's sales, it would put many parents off from buying one for their children.

I would have been happier if Nintendo came out with an improved DS with capacitive touch screen and improved CPU and GPU and stuck with the trusted 2D system. Not to mention with the improvements with battery technology meaning it would last for hours between charges.

I am definitely going to sit back and watch what happens with the 3DS, but Nintendo won't be seeing any of my money not at least until version 2 of the 3DS is released.

My biggest problem is still the launch line up there is nothing that reaches out and grabs me, no zelda, sratfox, revelations or mgs3. while RE mercs looks good its not a system seller for me.

Mario 64DS was a great game for the DS launch it had every thing you needed, it could be played in shorts burst or you could sink so serious time into it and there is nothing like that for me. :(

I read the engadget review. I'm not impressed when they said they preferred to play with 3D off.

So, its region locked, 3-5hr battery and 3D use is has no margin for movement. And £200-230 to boot.

I'm gonna wait for a 3DS refresh and a price drop before I risk 1st adoption. Or I could get one to trial what its like, then send it back under DSR if it doesnt perform to my expectations.

I guess its down to PSP2 next week.

The watching movies really took off with the psp :p

Not in UMD format lol. That fell flat on its face.

But the ability load movies up from a memory stick was/still is great.

I'm not saying the 3DS will flop. I know very litte about it at the moment. Its just that I've not seen anything to justify that price!

DS Games owned - 32
PSP Games Owned - 2

and thats the total I've bought for the PSP (DS I've sold some over the years as well).

Even with CFW I never really used the PSP.
