****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

REALLY debating weather or not to trade in my Mario DSiXL for this. I would if there was an extra trade-in value for the 25th Anniversary Mario edition. But it seems to only have the same trade in value as an ordinary DSiXL, which is a shame :(

I'd keep that one personally. Maybe it will increase in value, maybe not but meh. :D

Oh dont worry about it bud. You're perfectly entitled to your views and I understand where you are coming from.

For me personally, I dont have any qualms about battery life. For me its the lack of titles thats currently the killer.

Agreed. I do agree with the battery sentiments to some degree, I'll likely use mine in the house more than out and about, but keeping batteries on charge all the time doesnt tend to do them much good. That said, we'll likely see 3rd party or even official batteries designed to alleviate the situation in the future.
At least the 3DS comes with a power cable and charger dock, you didnt get jack with the original GBA!

All of this withstanding, thanks to Tescos I will be able to wait and pick up the best launch/early title for a tenner which gives me an advantage, and all the DS titles I missed means I will still get use of the machine til the better titles arrive, but we really need to hear solid news on titles coming to bolster the ranks; as it stands the only real reason Ive grabbed one so far is I fancied playing Pokemon for about the first time in a decade properly with these new ones and it seemed silly to buy older kit with the 3DS here, I'd like OOT/MQ when it hits and I won a premium bonds draw and had a little extra additional aside that this month.
As far as that goes though its speaking more for circumstance and the future than the machine itself, and we could really do with more compulsive reasons to own. Its got the weakest launch since probably the PS1.

Why is everyone cancelling because of battery life? It's no worse than using a PSP on full brightness, and you can always buy an extra battery. I know people will say "Ohh I'll wait for the inevitable 3DS Lite with a better battery life" well shock horror that the second revision of something would be better than the first. I'm sure everyone who bought an iPad knew that the iPad 2 would probably come out a year later, but they still bought it, it just seems like a few people in this thread have given false excitement only to later say ohh yeah I don't actually want one now because the battery is rubbish. 6 hours or so on original DS games and 3-3 and a half hours with 3DS titles with WiFi and full 3D effects... honestly guys we live in the UK, hardly anything is more than a 3-4 hour drive away, get over it.

As far as I know, they battery doesn't just pop off the back for you to replace it. You have to unscrew the back. So for most people it isn't a straightforward case of carrying a spare battery and then swapping it over when the main one dies.

Just traded my GF's DSL in for £73 at gamestation :D

Had a proper go of SSFIV over lunch in gamestation and I still think the controls are really nasty. Tiny buttons, impossible to use dpad + L trigger and huge throw on the analogue pad compounded with all the other issues I mentioned earlier really does ruin the game. A 360 pad is far superior imo.

Is there any trade in prices online for DS/i/XLs? Only sites I have seen with them is Game & Amazon.

Also got a dispatch email today from game :D

I've never been on a plane. :(

Your Welsh, they don't allow such magic over those parts do they? :p

I cancelled 'cause I don't want to pay £200 quid for something that won't last me a decent train journey :(

I will get one, when they're are a few more titles out for it and I've seen more reviews of the 3DS.

Until then, ordered another DSi :)
