****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

If you order it through Tesco Direct it mentions that they will send an email through with the voucher. Has anyone had such a voucher yet?

The deal is £197 for console + £10 for any game from selection so you pay £207 cash upfront. Knock of 9% (Quidco) and you get £188.37, after cashback. Unless I am mistaken that is how it is calculated.

rp2000

Bingo.

The 9% has expired now.

9% for entertainment is still showing on quidco though?

I took a different route.

£197 - £10 off voucher = £187
£187 paid @ 6% quidco yielding a further deduction down to £176.
And then add on the £10 for the game making up £186.

(the £10 off voucher doesnt work with Tesco entertainment, only direct).

Cancelled.

Can't see the point in spending £200 on something that could potentially last less then a journey.

Anyone able to cancel their order with Tesco Entertainment? There is no option for me to cancel when I view my order.

As I am wanting to get it from Game instead. Yes I know it's a bit more expensive. But the reason being that if after a month I decide I don't like it I will be able to trade it in. I can't remember the exact trade in price. But to keep it for a month and then trade in would only cost me I think £7 if I want credit or £18 if I want cash

Why is everyone cancelling because of battery life? It's no worse than using a PSP on full brightness, and you can always buy an extra battery. I know people will say "Ohh I'll wait for the inevitable 3DS Lite with a better battery life" well shock horror that the second revision of something would be better than the first. I'm sure everyone who bought an iPad knew that the iPad 2 would probably come out a year later, but they still bought it, it just seems like a few people in this thread have given false excitement only to later say ohh yeah I don't actually want one now because the battery is rubbish. 6 hours or so on original DS games and 3-3 and a half hours with 3DS titles with WiFi and full 3D effects... honestly guys we live in the UK, hardly anything is more than a 3-4 hour drive away, get over it.

You're obviously not aware of the existence of a car park called the M25 :D
(Only joking bud ;))

Although I cancelled my preorder. I couldnt help but think about the 3D experience and how it will unquestionably add another level of immersion in RPG games (e.g. Zelda)...

It is a very confusing situation for me. The weakest link for the 3DS today is the lack of grade A titles on release.

Yeah it does need more good launch titles, hopefully Metal Gear Solid et al will all come out within a few months. Sorry if I came across as an idiot, it just annoys me every time I hear someone say they are cancelling due to battery life, you can just buy replacement batteries and GB is hardly very big country. Those complaining about battery life on long flights I would have to ask how many times a year do normal people usually go abroad on a holiday, one or two times at the most is probably the common answer, in which situation a £200 handheld wouldn't really be viable if they were only going to use it once or twice a year on a flight, and even then you can just take a spare battery and be done with it. With this level of technology there will always be a tradeoff, the PSP battery wasn't amazing either but for a few hours it does the job just fine, I think people might be expecting the next revision to have DSi levels of battery life, with like 12 hours or more of playtime and that just isn't going to happen.

Depending who you fly with, you should be able to get power onboard anyhow. ;)

Oh dont worry about it bud. You're perfectly entitled to your views and I understand where you are coming from.

For me personally, I dont have any qualms about battery life. For me its the lack of titles thats currently the killer.

REALLY debating weather or not to trade in my Mario DSiXL for this. I would if there was an extra trade-in value for the 25th Anniversary Mario edition. But it seems to only have the same trade in value as an ordinary DSiXL, which is a shame :(

Cancelled mine earlier, will hang off for now and wait till some games I actually want to play come out, Mario Kart would be sweet.
