'World's Best Brown Ale 2008'

Really, really nice brown ale. Lovely sweetness and malty. I went into the Harvey's brewery outlet yesterday, and they have a mahoosive range of brews available. Must try more next time I visit.

Watch this space for a couple of other interesting ones later on in the week, including one named Black Death from a local brewery which contains Dorset Naga chilli extract and is meant to be very, very, very hot to drink.

Another Harvey's creation. At 9% this stout is a bit of a beast. It's one of those beers that should be drunk at a warmish temperature (14-16 degrees), something that I tend to avoid as I usually hate drinking warm beer. TBH this is pretty nasty - like Marmite and has almost no sweetness. A long and lingering bitter aftertaste - avoid! Guinness Foreign Extra and Dragon Stout are both much, much nicer.

Cheap red wine, can't be bothered to go to the shop to pick up beer/cider or mixer, so I'm finishing off a bottle that was opened by a mate a couple of days ago.

I bought a 24 can pack of Carlsberg for £14 from a supermarket, I am now regretting it as I have to actually drink all of this foul disgusting lager. At least afterwards I can get a good deal on Leffe and Hoegarrden.
