Went to the weatherspoons last night, £1.79 a pint for real ales as usual.

Ok not had any beer all week (yeah yeah it's only Thursday!)

Good to see you're branching out a little bit DJ! I hope you'll find the Leffe as terrific as I do.
The Innis & Gunn stuff is quite an acquired taste, it's mainstream oak aged stuff but it'll be quite a shock for a lager drinker like you.

I'll let you know how I get on. Oh and yes I do like my lager but also my ales and stouts too Ooh and a speedy recovery!

Ok went with the Leffe first simply because it's a four pack (one of the worst four pack packaging I've ever seen, never been so nervous lifting bottles from a shop shelf in my life!) and I was choking after my pistachios so thought at least I can try another later Well I must say it is certainly different but yet very likeable in taste, I'm not a great one for being descriptive but this to me seems to have an almost aniseed aftertaste, didn't keep it's head very long but seldom do .... esp. round me

Ok after my second Leffe which was equally enjoyed I have now opened and sampled the Innis & Gunn Original ... oh me oh my the first and lasting thing that jumps out at you is toffee! It has an almost syrup like feel as it flows over your tongue, so delightful and warming it cannot fail to bring a smile to your face, deffo recommend this as a you must try it!
