The **Now Drinking** Thread

is that the blonde or the brown? if the brown is vastly different then il happily try another but as it stands the blonde wont be getting another look in.

did you chill it at all? mine wasn't, served at room temp. ill try the brown, curiosity is a necessity i suppose but i could venture back to leffe blonde after all i hated sierra nevada pale ale the first time around.

Yes mate they were chilled, pretty sure it was a four pack I picked up (rather carefully due to the packaging if my memory serves me right). Damn it gonna have another beer before bed :D

good man, ive been pretty tame the last two weeks, been at the gym but i have just been paid, i have tomorrow off and i thought what the hell so here i am. you can deny mans primal urge for beer!

gym tomorrow morning, doesn't look like ill be doing a great deal :D.

will have to get a blonde and brown and chill them both and see how that fares. been drinking everything at room temp since starting on hoppy ales to help the profile come foreword, i struggle with flavours otherwise..... probably not a bad thing with the leffe

ok lads, gona stray out my comfort zone and get a bottle or 2 of proper beer.. how ever i'm only used to drinking commercial brands such as fosters/bud etc and dont really know what i'm looking for.

can any 1 snuggest a brand i can buy in asda or Morrisons?

Matey there are loads of them, best thing to do is pick a few each time you are in along with your regular whatever pack, this is what I tend to do. Well that and take a few pointers off say Ahleckz and Co. The beer I'm drinking at the minute (pic above) is from M&S and honestly can't recommend it enough, as for Asda try an Innis & Gunn , either the Blonde (blue label) or Original (red label). They will be something completely different for you, price too :p nudging £2 per bottle though Asda tend to offer this a lot at £3 for 2.

EDIT: LOL damn you Ahleckz!!! :D

morrisons i can comment on, i dont use asda.

moving from macro beers such as bud etc. you dont want too much of a shock to the taste buds.

moorlands Old golden hen. cracking easy pint with good hop flavour, not strong on bitterness but with a good flavor profile, excellent transition ale.

boston lager. ive seen it get a bad rap but honestly its a good lager for someone un familiar with craft ale, try it.

greene king ipa export, good beer with a bit more bitterness and slight hoppy flavor. definitely a good transition ale.

my three for you. you dont want a massive hoppy beer to start with, sierra nevada a must when you get accustomed, goose island or a good pint of guinness will do but start small. you will grow to appreciate.

must get to a m&s jester and give that a go.

best thing about drinking something that has been brewed a bit more lovingly is the hangovers dont seem quite so punishing :D

not for me any way.
