The **Now Eating** Thread

Last night's dinner I did

Pulled pork cobs (9hrs in smoker) ribs (7hrs) brisket (36 hours sous vide and 7 in smoker) burnt ends, sous vide corn, homemade coleslaw and sweet potato fries

Made this with the Weber Kick'n Chicken rub. It needed bigger Jalapenos and more cream cheese stuffing but it was bloody good. That rub will be my go-to chicken rub now.

 
Went to Zizzi for lunch today. Not eaten there before, but I saw their festive menu and I thought I'd give it a go.

Starter was pulled beef arancini. Not bad. The beef was good, but the portion size was too big in my opinion and the rice balls could have been a bit firmer. But still not bad.

Main was their festive pizza. I thought it looked interesting enough to give it a go. Came with: Trealy farm venison & pork salami, butternut squash, sautéed brussel sprouts with smoked mozzarella, roasted garlic cloves, sunblush tomatoes, mascarpone, thyme & cranberry shavings. It was a weird pizza. Not bad, but I don't think some of the ingredients worked well on a pizza, like the Brussel sprouts...

Also it was again too big. I only managed to eat about two thirds of it before giving up. I don't think I would get it again.

The pudding saved it for me. Winter spiced sticky toffee pudding. Came with hot butterscotch sauce, caramelised pecans, chocolate shavings & vanilla gelato. This I would highly recommend! Went down a treat :)

Whipped up a quick bit of nutty granola earlier, had some dried fruit bits left over so they went it too. Should keep me going for a couple of weeks.

I just cant see how that type of food is appetising. Mind you, I dont think any cereals are really appetising, just something we choose for health and convenience.
 
I find most muesli pretty rubbish but that's essentially toasted nuts, oats and sugar. I'd be eating it by the handful as a completely unhealthy snack :)

I'm also not a huge fan of cereals in general so I do sort of agree with you on that point.
 
All those crisps are genuinely really nice in crisp sarnies. Almost as if thats what they were made for. However with those I added a dollop of real salad cream. Delicious.
