I'm hoping it's a generous portion of butter rather than a miserly portion of mash.
Perhaps the pie is 5 metres x 4 metres and it is a giant sealed ball of mash.
I believe it is a plate.

It was the slim offering of mash and sadly not a 5x4m pie.
Does look good, but they need to use a bigger spoon when adding mash

Was a steak pie. For hotel bar food I wasn’t expecting much but was a very tasty pie.
Heading on holiday tomorrow am so figured a British classic before a ton of Murican cuisine was a good call
