The **Now Eating** Thread

Boooooooooo :(

Did you even get any bites or anything taking your bait, we had nothing not even crabs taking the bait.

no bites, fished from 7pm till 10:30pm at hill head.. same place i caught a hound last week
my buddy caught a crab and a guy fishing ~30 yards away caught an eel.
i wasnt expecting much from such a short tide but hoped to catch something :(,
weve got good weather forcast for this week and building tides so i expect to get out again targeting smooth hound (atm im thinking of thursdays midnight high tide)
where did you fish?

on topic.. a biscuit :)

Eastbourne, Normans Bay, Newhaven Arm or Brighton Marina

We try to fish three hours before and three hours after high tide and aim for a strong high tide around dusk. Well that's the plan :p

Jus tried the holy **** sauce, bit disappointed. To sweet and not hot enough to be a request only sauce.

At a guess naga, scotch bonnet, lime, bit of tomato, fair bit of sugar and pretty sure a spice blend as well, same spice he uses on the ribs at a guess as it had a similar flavour profile just heated up with lime.

I can see why he's popular, but when you set up to cook at 3am, tout the organic line, fresh made etc. I was expecting something more. Maybe a victim of his own success.
would have def prefered at least some smoke flavour on the ribs and as ribs are fatty, the chilis sauce needs to be more vinegar based rather than sweet, but then I do prefer vinegar based chiili sauces over sweet (unless its a spicy BBQ sauce, then sugar me up).

Also reconfirms I want to make my own chili sauces, I need to purchase a house so I can get the kitcen license.

Had my first innocent pot, the mexican chilli one. Was quite nice but the price is kind of off putting.

Not long finished half a jerk chicken with home-made jerk sauce. Tasted very nice but not very hot. I made it with my home grown Scotch Bonnets which were, frankly, pathetic. They were tiny and had no seeds (I suspect they weren't pollinated). The chicken tasted nice and the sauce was tasty - just not very hot. I made a big batch and I still have plenty left so I'll nip to Morrisons tomorrow and get a couple of proper Scotch Bonnets to beef up the sauce a bit.

Here's a pic anyway. Cooked on the BBQ of course.
