The **Now Eating** Thread

If I eat out, first thing I do when the burger arrive is I take the tomatos out not because I don't like them, it's because they make the whole burger slippery with all the fillings sliding everywhere.

I did take it out after that bite because it was doing exactly that but I do like them.

It has to have raw onions and pickles though. I also added some whole grain mustard too which gave it a little warmth.

Really good burger, I was surprised I nice it was. Never going to get pre made burgers patty again.

Sorry if you mentioned it before Ray but what cut of meat/fat% etc did you use for your smash?

The packaging says maximum 25% fat.

There was another one with Max 20% fat.

Just the way the labels works in Morrisons so I got the 25% one. I forgot what cut it was, it was your regular minced beef in the beef aisle.

Ah ok so easy to get from the supermarket then, that's cool. Thanks for the reply.

You can get nicer mince from a proper butcher but as Ray says - go for the highest fat value mince you can for the best result :)

You can get nicer cuts of mince but it was 7pm and on my way home from work so it's either supermarket mince or not at all.

I was planning on going to a butchers as the quality of the meat from the one we use is very very good however it is in a different town so was looking for something that I could grab on my way home, which means Sainsburys for me for now.

Thanks for the replies.

Perfect to me, wish I could get mine looking like that anyway.

Cast iron skillet heated on high. About 8mins total. I flip it every so often though. On to different parts of the pan to keep it on the hottest part.

Then rest for 10minutes.

I didn't even use any oil, just seasoned.

Steak and sweet potato fries for me tonight, Im excited! :D (Pizza for the other half)

Bought a nice bottle of red too to go with the dinner.
