Lasagne and chips has to be one of the best things!Played a gig at a private party yesterday and there was free food. Lots of lovely lasagne and very crispy chips, coleslaw and garlic bread followed by a slice of birthday cake with a chocolate enrobed strawberry.

Generally you don't need to use a lot of MSG. Rather than keep accessing the big bag I put some in a small spice jar (previously emptied and that came with holes suitable for shaking under the lid) so I can add a dash whilst cooking.
Silly question but what does it add? Do you follow a recipe thats has it in or add to Chinese cooking in general as you know it’s ingredient X

It adds umami. Use a sprinkle when cooking savoury dishes.
