**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I think ive managed to fix my performance issues with stuttering and such and maybe crashing but its to early to say for sure. I forced the PCIe x16 slot from gen3 to gen2 mode in my bios and its been smooth so fare.. I remember this being a problem back with sandy bridge on the 700 series card i believe but i never thought it would be of note on a haswell system and 900 series nvidia cards.. odd. Just leaving it out there for you to try if you have had similar issues as such as crashes and micro stuttering ever 1-2 seconds.

Were you getting any crashes before trying this?,or just janky performance?

Both crashes and poor perfomrnace on any official driver from nvidia. If i used a modded 347 driver for my 980ti i could avoid the crashes but performance was poor as in stuttering. FPS has always been sorta high though but thats useless with stuttering on top of it. In the end if it turns out i still get a crash once in a while then alright i can deal with that i just dont want stutter.. a crash or 2 a day ill survive for the time being..

No performance issues here. The only problem i have is that i never see a POST when i reboot, i get no signal until i get to the windows login screen. If i want to see POST i have to do a cold start, this is with Windows 8.1 (fastboot is disabled) and the 353.49 hotfix driver. Anyone else had this or know of a fix? Thanks

Edit: This definitely only happens when the Nvidia driver is installed.

GeForce 353.51 BETA

This driver, Version R353.51, is a unofficial Beta driver with Game:Ark optimization!

"MASSIVE GPU Perf Gain for NVIDIA cards, about 10 Miliseconds per frame (this can be up to a 20-40% gain depending on your FPS). Coming as soon as NVIDIA will let us get these new drivers out..."

I'm guessing this is the driver they're talking about. Since it's got "NDA" in the file name, I doubt it was meant to be released yet.

Might give it a try, cant hurt.Would like to get the GTA and TW3 perf gains without the instability lol

Its an older driver branch with some testing code for the developer, wouldn't install them unless your only interested in Ark.
