**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Ok... finally worked!

Geez-louise my GFE is running slow lately! :(

Yeah it is slow, its also a bit temperamental, especially with Cryengine, sometimes it will blackscreen freeze it so you have wait for it to crash if you're not fast enough to Alt+Return out and quit it in Task Manager, after than end Nvidia Stream Server.... it having been the frozen problem.

Its just one of those things from imperfect software in any camp.

PS: Congratz arc@css :)

Guys I think I'm on the 355.87s and I get crashes in bf4 when I click on the options tab after escaping out of the game. I get it at stock as well as OCed. Anyone else had anything similar?? I'm on win 8.1 btw

Right, some googling reveals it an old AMD driver bit that's the problem. Bit of DDU and everything is better. The End

Really enjoying gaming since the last driver upgrade. However I started getting minimizing to desktop again a week or so ago. I did get to the bottom of it though - I had to install Citrix receiver for various reasons, and it seems that selfserviceplugin.exe stops/starts now and then which minimizes any full screen app to the desktop. It's not a driver issue.

You can see this in the event logs.

Killing the selfserviceplugin process stops this from happening. Just a heads up for anyone else who has to use Citrix for any reason!

I remember a long time ago playing BF3 and it continued to minimize and no idea why.... After some googling, I found that a service was taking priority and for some reason, it would only do it whilst playing BF3. Cured it and happy days until I switched to Windows 8.1 and some months later played BF3 again and boom, minimize city. I never did bother to find out what service it was (took me ages first time) and just didn't play BF3 again :D

Is there anyway to perma disable the Nvidia Streamer things running in the background?

I don't stream and don't intend to, and for some reason having them using the little of my PC that they do really annoys me.

I want them gone.

The last time I had a similar issue it was to do with a WiFi dongle I had. Even after I stopped using it, the software installed for it kept seizing focus.

Anyways - I think next time I reinstall my PC, I'm going to create a VM to install any work-related applications. Can't have this stuff interfering with my gaming! :D

358.87 working fine here on W10. Last drivers I recall I had an issue with was those few after 350.12 I believe on Windows 8.1. Were a disaster, thankfully solved jumping to Win 10

Uninstall GFE will stop it.

Yeah that's what I did last time, I like the Game Optimisation stuff but don't record gameplay anymore so have no need of Shadowplay and Twitch/Youtube hype stuff.

Will get it uninstalled and go back to playing around with the settings myself.

There is a service you can just kill which will stop the ability to record but can't remember off the top of my head what it is. Gimme 10 mins and I will have a look.
