**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

SLI working now for FO4 then?

Yes and no, there is no S.P.E.C.I.A.L profile for it, but you can copy over the SLI Compatibility bits info from Fallout 3 in the Nvidia Inspector:

0x42800005 (Fallout - New Vegas, Fallout 3)

That will make it use my two cards but I'm still getting big drops at certain points, I think it's when it's loading some new extra scenery off in the distance, so not so much SLI related but shouldn't be dropping into the 40's with my setup really.

Just opened up NVCP and for some reason it says "This Display Does Not Support HDCP".

Any fix for this ?

Using the ROG Swift, Pretty sure it was fine a few drivers ago as I just tried to watch a film on amazon prime and it wouldn't let me due to no HDCP :(

That's a directx 9 profile though isn't it?

Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit.

It was working just fine a few weeks back, I've tried going back a a few months in drivers but nothing seems to solve it.

It can't be the monitor or GPU as other stuff would stop working.

Might do a clean OS install and see if that helps.

Have you tried another cable to connect up the monitor to the graphics card ? Also what connection are you using DP,HDMI,DVI ?

Another thing you can try is power down the monitor and pc completely (unplug from power at the mains) and then this will force it to retry the HDCP handshake.

If that fails you can try deleting the monitor from the device manager and all the hidden versions of the monitor (greyed out versions in the monitor device manager).

You get to the hidden ones by doing the following below.

1. cmd (open a command prompt)

2. type in the command prompt set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

3. type in the command prompt devmgmt.msc (this will open the device manager)

4. in the device manager under View menu click show hidden devices

5. work down to monitors and delete all the monitors showing including all the greyed out ones (do not choose to remove the driver just delete the entry) then restart the pc (this will reinstall the monitor automatically again) and check in Nvidia control panel if the Nvidia HDCP is active again.

If that fails and you also have a CPU with a Intel graphics card built in make sure to reinstall the drivers for that too (or use DDU to also remove Intel graphics drivers too when you do the Nvidia ones) , or as above delete the Intel graphics driver from the device manager (do not choose to remove the driver just delete the entry) and restart again and it will picks it up correctly again and has enabled the HDCP on that too.

But do make sure your cable you are using to connect to the monitor is okay too, that is probably the main fault, if you have tried all the above and failed to make it work, try setting the monitor back to factory settings and see if that helps.

If all that fails and you are 100% sure it's not the cable and done as I said above it maybe worth trying another install of Windows 10, it could be then just a corrupted registry entry causing it, or try to turn back windows to a previous state in windows system restore.

Also make sure your audio drivers are upto date and make sure to install the nvidia audio drivers too, that can trip up HDCP too.

Appreciated the reply, I'm using DP, Tried and done all of the things you suggest and nothing works.

I'll do a fresh install of Windows to see if that fixes it, If not I have no clue what it could be as everything works fine apart from HDCP.

Sounds like Windows 10 has gone belly up then mate or a corrupt registry.

Fresh reinstall then mate and fingers crossed that sorts it out.

Thought there was something not quite right as my gpu idle temps have risen from around 24 - 26 to the high 30s. I wonder if it's something to do with the driver change since Windows 10 has been installed? I just checked Afterburner, which now reads 353.82 where as before it was 355.98. And there was me thinking that new carpets were the cause. It's an amazing thing, the mind.

Can't see the connection myself.

My idle temps are exactly the same before/after the big Windows 10 update. Also running 353.82 before/after Windows update.

Yeah, I know it's a bit ridiculous, but I did wonder if going from a bare concrete floor (moved house a while ago) to a more furnished place would alter temps. I guess it's possible there could be a fractional difference but not 12 - 15 degrees. :D

Found this -

Actual SLI Fix that Works, Tested on x2 Maxwell GTX970 in 4K, Windows 10 Pro, 64Bit.
Please see screenshot for FPS Gain.

Method #1 (Maxwell)
SLI compatibility bits (DX1x): 0x080200F5 (Max Payne 3)
Number of GPUS to use in SLI rendering Mode: Choose how many GPUs you have in your system
NVIDIA Predefined number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode in DirectX10: Choose how many GPUs you have in your system
NVIDIA Predefined SLI mode on DirectX 10: SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_DX10_FORCE_AFR2

Method #2 (Maxwell)
Out friend here user named 'hide291', mentioned an alternative method for Nvidia Maxwell GPUs (I can confirm that it works).
Open up Nvidia Inspector, Open Fallout 4 Profile, use the button to Reset it to Nvidia defaults and change just one setting:
SLI compatibility bits (DX1x): 0x080000F5 (Killing Floor 2, Catzilla, Dragon Age 2)

Use something like Frap to see FPS and compare which method works best for you.

Method #3 (Pre-Maxwell)
Its been reported that this method works for some people with Kepler Generation cards (600 Series), user 'Johnsenpai' says that it works on his SLI670, but that also my first method works a little better.
This is the one that fakes SLI on Maxwell, if you enable nvidia SLI indicator and enable this method on Maxwell it will look like both cards work but if you compare FPS to single card mode, it wont be any better.

Go to NVIDIA Control Panel and change SLI Rendering Mode to Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2

Just having a slight issue with DSR on my second screen.

1440p (DP) main monitor and a 1080p TV (HDMI via AV amp).
I have the TV set as primary display, so that when I turn it on, any game will just play on it without fiddling.
Until I updated to the latest drivers last night, I had DSR resolutions available on each screen.

Now, I only have it on the monitor and the TV is stuck with native res.
I could faff around with rolling back drivers to see if it's that, but was just wondering if anyone had experienced this or if I'm just missing a setting that I had on there previously?

EDIT:
Rolled back to 358.50 and now have DSR available on both screens again.
