Had the same issue yesterday, thought my card had died. Rebooted pc and got straight into Windows![]()
Yep same as me.... not sure if its Nvidia or Windows issue.... will keep just restarting as its not such a pain if it will be fixed soon

Well looks like the disgusting windows 10 update function automatically updated to the latest nvidia drivers. Now on my laptop whilst booting up i get a distorted screen for like a second. Will i have problems if i uninstall and revert back to my old drivers?
No, you can't. I don't even have the option after the Anniversary update and the group edit "fix" doesn't work either. The last time Microsoft decided to mess around with my drivers they installed a older one than the one I had installed!! I am sick and fed up with the lack of choice in what get's downloaded with Windows 10.
I just looked and I am now on the latest Windows 10 version (with Game Mode) released the other week or so and the option is still there just with slightly different wording ?

Are 381.89 WHQL effecting overclocks?
I don't know if its the drivers or something else, i'll start from the top. yesterday i reinstalled Windows, i had some strange mouse lag going on, sometimes when coming out of a game the mouse pointer would lag on the screen, it never did it in game, it never did it in 3DMark, or any Unigine, it didn't do it in FurMark......
Stress testing CPU-Z it would do it for the first 10 seconds and then be ok, stress testing the GPU in AIDA64 and in Luxmark while running RealBench tress test, infact the nVidia driver would crash running the latter.
Thinking it might be a problem with the GPU i taken it out and ran CPU-Z stress test while running on the iGPU, it was still doing it, its not the GPU.
The GPU is actually new, MSI 1070 Quick Silver, i got it just as the Windows anniversary update was out, so i just couldn't compare before and after, so i uninstalled the whole thing, once installed again i installed 381.65 and tested with CPU-Z, Luxmark....
Perfect, the mouse lagging was completely gone, yesterday i installed 381.89 and tested it again, no problem, today i did notice a very very slight bit of lag when coming out of FC4, about 0.5 of a second, i tested CPU-Z stress testing again, 0.5 seconds of mouse lag, so slight if i was not looking for it i would not know it was there, as long as it doesn't go back to being as bad as it was before i'm not worried about that.
So, 381.89 overclocking, what this card does, strangely when reaching its overclock limit is not artifact or crash the drivers, it shuts down the application thats running, 3DMark, for example, just stops and it says "Canceled by user"
With 381.65 the GPU would run happy with +100 on the core, +400 on the memory with +100mv... 24/7 clocks, yesterday playing FC4 on the new 381.89 drivers the game just stopped, i found myself on the desktop with no info as to what happened, so i put it through Unigine Heaven, half way through it stopped, (Before all that i was playing BL2 and Day Of Infamy for 3 hours with a friend but they don't put any stress on the GPU) so anyway the first thing i did was take the +100mv off and retested Unigine, it passed, i played FC4 for any hour with no problems...
I don't know if its the extra voltage that 381.89 doesn't like of the 20 or so Mhz i got from them, frankly i don't care as 20Mhz is literally nothing when already running past 2Ghz, in fact it does almost 2Ghz out of the box, i don't actually get anything like the +100Mhz i set, people say the RX 580 or even the RX 480 are running near maximum, that they don't have much OC headroom..... PHAA!!!!! they get a lot more than i do with both the Pascal cards i have had
Anyway... what do you guys think?![]()
Display Driver Uninstaller is effective at killing automatic driver updates on Windows 10. I'm not sure exactly what it tweaks, but it certainly stops it happening. No, you can't.
