**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Just updated to 388.13 so I can play the new Wolfenstein game, coming from 368.69 drivers which work 100% stable no crashes at all.

Since updating to 388.13 I get very intermittent errors with the screen going black and 'display driver not responding but has recovered'.

Anyone else having similar issues? I've done a system restore back to the old 368.69 for testing at the moment.

Yes in both Wolf and COD WW2, the driver is not getting good feedback on NV Forums, hence Wolf Devs reversed their decision to enforce driver version in the games Beta patch.

Any idea what 100% stable version I should go for from 368.69 which will allow me to play Wolfenstein2?

ps, Did try a DDU and reinstalling 388.13 but still driver crashes, my system is built for stability so no overclocks on anything other than the manufacturer overclock on the GPU which is modest (MSI 1070 armour version)

Tried adding the game launch properties +r_disableDriverVersionCheck 1 to Wolfenstein2 and made no difference.

Is version 388.00 stable?

I played the game on both, but obv 388.00 was quickly replaced so cannot say long-term and I had my share of issues.

You can read peeps getting issues on these last 2 drivers in other games that were fine before.

Does it crash in other games? If not it's most likely the game not drivers or your system.

Or tho DDU..... I am one of those people who says it's less than useless. By the time you reach for DDU it's time to fresh install. I wouldn't touch a third party GPU utility at all.

Never and nope. It's not made by AMD or Nvidia. They have not a scooby doo what changes they make from driver to driver. Only leads to more mess imo.

387.92 work fine for me with Wolfenstein2.

As per here having lots of issues with the black screen bug on 388.10 + 388.13.

378.66 (Feb 2017!) seem to be the most stable for me right now Nvidia should spend more time on making the GPU drivers stable than bundling the other features with them! https://forums.geforce.com/default/...vlddmkm-cannot-be-found/8/?offset=110#5239882

Does 378.66 work with Wolfenstein 2? I might try that version first. My 368.69 is too old to run Wolfenstein2 even with the gpu detection workaround.

It works but some of the skyboxes are messed up as they retain the wrong reflection image from the ground. Wolfenstein 2 got patched on Steam so it no longer has the driver detection as so many users having issues with the newer Nvidia drivers right now!
