In other news, god really exists and 9/11 was in fact an inside job.
And so it begins...![]()
Bit overly dramatic, I don't think anyone is losing their minds. Just a fun observation of the 1st driver from the 4 series. This is madness. How some lose their minds over 1 - 1.5fps. This reminds me of my once obsession running Quake 3 timedemo tests back in the GeForce 3 days in 2001.
If you notice, I made no mention of gimping. Just a bit of fun to stir the fanboysHardly think this is real evidence of gimping mate
Absolutely hilarious that people think a 1fps discrepancy is an obvious sign of gimping older cards right away.

Yes 411 fps lost over the YEARS!1 Frame per driver. Adds up.![]()
I was being sarcastic.Yes 411 fps lost over the YEARS!
Andi.
Download the NVIDIA driver slimming utility, it is exactly as it says so you can trim down your NVIDIA driver install base.
As described by the programmer uKER , having trimmed NVIDIA drivers for as long as he can remember, the man decided to make a utility to help make the modification and installation process more bearable. Now, this idea has transformed into an easy to use utility usable for the general public. With the tool, you can select the many modules that form the driver, and select what you need and/or want to be installed. Once you hit apply, it deletes the modules the user didn't choose too kto, and offers the option to install the driver.
The app is in early staged and will likely see some updates and improvements. Hope you find it useful. Any bug reports and/or suggestions are welcome, you can check out the dedicated forum thread where the author is active.
Oh my - NVidia gimping performance already? You would think they would wait a bit at least..... Oh wait, that is the margin of error but doesn't fit agendas.
Test on your card? I would but running a 290XA couple of frames for this driver. But need to go back a few and re-test as they may have been knocking a few off with each release so people don't notice :/
Hi all, I've nabbed a 1070 off the ocuk MM to replace an aging R9 290 - it is my first NV card since...er my GeForce 2 GTS many, many years ago... Would the latest drivers suffice for it, or am I better odd grabbing an older driver for the sake of performance? Cheers.
