**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Hi all, I've nabbed a 1070 off the ocuk MM to replace an aging R9 290 - it is my first NV card since...er my GeForce 2 GTS many, many years ago... Would the latest drivers suffice for it, or am I better odd grabbing an older driver for the sake of performance? Cheers.
399.24 is better on 3 PC's for me. The latest ones are garbage and cause blue screens. YMMV.

Cheers guys. I've got the latest downloaded for when the card arrives. I'll grab 399.24 right now and try that firstly I guess.

That was a quick addition, I've only just updated to a new driver yesterday. I think I'll update to this one as well just so I can lose the exclamation mark on the Nvidia tray icon.

Driver 411.70 seems to be alright except for one thing. The windows and mouse sticks whenever Evga Precision xoc is open.

I can't move anything around on the desktop so is there a fix for this?

Installed 411.70 today to use my 'new' EVGA 1070. No issues running it alongside Evga Precision. Not a fan of the latter though as the UI is dreadful.

Haven't been with NV since the Geforce 2 GTS days so I am blown away at the dead silent 1070 that never goes over 60c. ShadowPlay is amazing in use vs the amd equivalent that always have me issues.

Yep, I love it. Yet *most* seem to hate it.

Looks like i was right, and they did gimp the Pascals to make the 20s look better in the reviews, as they have now ungimped them, with the next driver, the .70 :p

I thought they'd wait until after the 2070 was reviewed tbh, before they put the Pascals performance back, but im guessing when the 2070 gets reviewed, they'll have another driver which will gimp them again, and then another to ungimp them again after :D

It could have been a genuine bug but this isnt the first time the argument has been made. Not to mention, there are plenty of shady business practices that arent 'stopped' until they are brought to light, like gaming benchmarks.

I would have to see more historical evidence of the fact before believing it was intentional. But in my mind it is absolutely a possibility given what i've seen the component manufacturers get up to in the past.
