**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

i tried these with hardware acc on. Seem smoother in bf5 in dx12. The play nice with my OC too - Titan Pascal

Same with Assassins Creed Odyssey! My internet was down all evening, so I played that from 5 in the evening until 1am in the morning :D

My minimums and averages were a lot better with Hardware Acceleration Scheduling on

450.99 on Windows 10 2004 doesn't play nicely with a game running (idle in a window or at load) and playing a video on a second screen.

Running 2x 2080 Ti's on 2004 with the 450.99 drivers, HW scheduling turned on. If I game on a 4K 60hz screen with a video running in Edge on screen 2 that is 1080p 60hz I get severe game stuttering even though Afterburner reports perfect frame times and a single GPU is only under 70/80% load. Same video on Chrome even a 4K one while doing the same thing the game is silky smooth.

Another issue is just minimizing and dragging windows about like the calculator or document folder while a game is idle in a window is stuttery as hell. Never had an issue in 1909, that was 100% issue free. Even disabling HW scheduling on 450.99 did nothing to fix the stuttering issue, installed 446.14 over the top without a single reboot and all stuttering issues went away while watching a video on a second screen while gaming or dragging windows around. No stuttering on those drivers and everything is silky smooth.

While you can enable HW scheduling in Windows on 450.99 Nvidia mentioned in their forum it's not officially supported in that driver yet, but will be in the next game ready driver. Will be sticking with 446.14 until the next WDDM 2.7 driver is out as 450.99 is 100% unusable for me in its current state.

I wonder how much is due to your 2nd screen

Interesting feature just been looking at when I would get Windows 10 2004 and my update page says my system is not at the correct stage then I found this -
despite being an older driver on hold for they might be waiting for new general release Nvidia drivers as one of the criteria.

Issue with older drivers for Nvidia display adapters (GPU)
Nvidia and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues with certain versions of Nvidia display adapter drivers and Windows 10, version 2004 (the Windows 10 May 2020 Update). Windows 10 devices with affected Nvidia display driver versions might receive a stop error with a blue screen or other issues during or after installing the update to Windows 10, version 2004. The affected drivers are any version lower than 358.00.
To safeguard your update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on Windows 10 devices with affected Nvidia display drivers drivers installed from being offered Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows Server, version 2004 until the driver has been updated.
Affected platforms:
  • Client: Windows 10, version 2004
  • Server: Windows Server, version 2004

Workaround: To mitigate this issue, you will need to check with your device manufacturer (OEM) to see if an updated driver is available and install it.
Next steps: Microsoft and Nvidia are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
Note We recommend that you do not attempt to manually update using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool until this issue has been resolved.

358 is pretty old. Even the 1080 Ti cannot use those. It wasn't until 37x before you could install drivers for the 1080 Ti.

So what year is that? 2015?
