**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Since installing the 466.11 drivers my game temps (3080FE) have been crazy hitting 80c and it was as though my undervolt was not working at all.
Finally found out what was causing it. I was using a "clean" version of 466.11 but it was still installing the NVContainer service.
So disabled and removed NVContainer and my temps have dropped back into the 60c's now !

Installed clean version of 466.22 and even made sure NVContainer was not meant to be installed and checked afterwards and the service was back.
So removed it again. Thought I would share as its been driving me nuts.

Awful drivers for Warzone again, this time however it's stuttering (on the 980 GTX system), but yet again Sharpen is broken and Geforce Experience has to be used. Whereas in the Nvidia 457.51 setting Sharpen in the Nvidia control panel works fine! Going back to 457.51 drivers and all is well. Think I'll stay on them from now on :(

I really hate the 46x drivers and I should've learnt my lesson by not updating

Yeah the improvements seem superficial.

No issues with 466.47 but I upgrade to every version (always install over the top) and it's ultra rare that I run into any issues, for me definitely under 5 issues in about 12 years that I'd blame the drivers for.

Were is this nv container located?

Were is this nv container located?

It was running in Task Manager and I checked services and it was running there. So I stopped it and removed the service. Its not meant to be installed with the "clean" drivers but it was.

Update: 466.47 just installed clean version and the NV Container LS service is back even though its not meant to install it. Removed it again.

Just wondering if people dont realise they think they are installing a "clean" version and its not clean and this is attributing to high temps.

I did a clean install and in task manager i have 5 "nvidia container" showing up...... what does it do?

No idea not googled it but I removed them and my temps were better NVCleanInstall also classes it as non essential but even when its not ticked it still installs it.
Over on Nvidia forums people say it can start CPU and disk access spiking to 100% so the general consensus is its bugged and disable it. Something to do with GFE and I dont use that anyway.

Sadly this isn't the second or third time they've screwed this up with GeForce Experience. I even remember once they screwed it up so badly that GeForce Experience wouldn't work.

What made you remove nv container in the first place? Seems an odd thing to remove at random.

I just checked and have a few of these running too... However I DO use GFE, and like it. So I guess I need it.
Also one seems to relate to nvidia broadcast. Which I use on occasion too.

Very strange that this would lead to a near 10 degree GPU temp spike for you.

I updated to the latest drivers yesterday, and played some SoTR fine for a couple hours. But when playing GTA V I got a blue screen restart. The memdump suggest it was a driver, likely display :|. I dont know what it is about GTA V... but it gives me nothing but problems on my new rig. (Highest vram temps, most crashes... despite being the oldest game I play.)
