**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Yeah I'm not experiencing issues either but apparently latency is slightly higher than normal but I'm yet to see any real world result of it.

I guess i should download it and try it. Does this directly affect latency in games at all or just general workloads on desktop?

Open Issues

  • [Halo Infinite] Significant performance drop is observed on Maxwell-based GPUs. [4052711]
  • [DaVinci Resolve] This driver implements a fix for creative application stability issues seen during heavy memory usage. We’ve observed some situations where this fix has resulted in performance degradation when running DaVinci Resolve. This will be addressed in an upcoming driver release. [4172676]
Additional Open Issues from GeForce Forums

Notes: This is not new. Manuel from Nvidia has been tracking any additional driver issues in their forum post separate from release notes. This is the first time I am including them here and will do so moving forward.

  • Small checkerboard like pattern may randomly appear in Chromium based applications [3992875]
  • Some monitors may display random black screen flicker when in Display Stream Compression mode when using R530 drivers [4034096]
  • [GeForce RTX 4060] GPU monitoring utilities reporting incorrect idle power usage [4186490]
  • Event Viewer logs nvlddmkm error at the end of the OCCT video ram test when memory is full [4049182]
  • [GeForce GTX 10/RTX 20 series] PC may randomly freeze/bugcheck when Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling and NVIDIA SLI are both enabled [4009884]
  • Horizontal band may appear when cloning a G-SYNC display to HDMI monitor [4103923]
  • A new NVIDIA icon is created in the system tray each time a a user switch takes place in Windows [4251314]
  • [Alienware X17 R2 w/ GeForce RTX 3080 Ti] Display goes blank when DirectX game is launched while notebook is in dedicated GPU mode [4146369]
  • [RTX 4060 Ti] Display may randomly flicker with a black bar on the top of the screen when using desktop apps [4239893]

I get this with a 4080

Have you ran this on your 4080 as they did need a UEFI update to rule that out ? It will tell you if it needs the update or not too and works on AIBS and FE cards.

NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool

Updated 11/18/2022 10:40 AM

NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool

To ensure compatibility with certain UEFI SBIOSes, an update to the NVIDIA GPU firmware may be required. Without the update, graphics cards in certain motherboards that are in UEFI mode could experience blank screens on boot until the OS loads. This update should only be applied if blank screens are occurring on boot.

Click here to download the NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool v1.2.

The NVIDIA GPU Firmware Update Tool will detect whether the firmware update is needed, and if needed, will give the user the option to update it.

If you are currently experiencing a blank screen, please try one of the following workarounds in order to run the tool:
  • Ensure you are using the latest SBIOS from your motherboard vendor
  • Change boot mode from UEFI to Legacy/CSM
  • Boot using an alternate graphics source (secondary card or integrated graphics)
  • After powering on your system, wait for your operating system to load with the graphics driver installed

Once you have the tool downloaded, please run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure all apps are closed before running the tool and make sure no OS updates are pending in the background. This tool can be used with Founders Edition as well as partner cards.

Applicable Products
GeForce RTX 4090, GeForce RTX 4080

Also check if your card maker has a VBIOS update for it too that may fix some known issues.

Why has DPC latency been removed from open issues? The fix was only for 30 series, 40 series still has DPC latency.

As for Starfield:

Driver 537.13
Average framerate : 107.9 FPS
Minimum framerate : 103.8 FPS
Maximum framerate : 111.4 FPS
1% low framerate : 80.1 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 67.6 FPS

Driver 537.34
Average framerate : 109.8 FPS
Minimum framerate : 106.4 FPS
Maximum framerate : 113.6 FPS
1% low framerate : 86.6 FPS
0.1% low framerate : 74.1 FPS

Was this for the Steam or the Game Pass version ?

It's got kinda annoying at this point, I think the Studio drivers have better control over DPC as with game ready, I do notice pops in some audio playback more often than with Studio. I'm on Game Ready as the Studio driver hasn't updated to the latest version yet.

Annoying!
