I left mine for quite a while, 20 mins odd, and it didn't recover. The ctrl win shift b command didn't work either. Had to force a reboot. It's fine now and says the driver did install.Come to think of it, I installed a CUDA toolkit a while back and the screen went black. I was actually going to restart (because it was a long time) then it came back on and I could see it finishing the installation.
Yea I run 4 displays and the amount of times the driver causes my primary display to black screen on a reboot is just ridiculous. This is even before all these issues. on my 3060Ti too.. so you might be right there.I left mine for quite a while, 20 mins odd, and it didn't recover. I assume it might be multimonitor shenanigans. It usually is because they still can't get it sorted, even though people have been using multiple monitors for decades now.
Yep. I've got my monitor and a TV hooked up. Have had so for the past 5 years odd, across multiple nvidia graphics cards (1080ti>3080>5090) and I've often had to suffer with black screens due to various reasons. It comes and goes, one driver update will be fine, and I don't have black screen issues, and then suddenly they'll cause a regression again. Most recently it happens when I turn my TV on regardless of whether I'm using it for the PC or not. It's just absurd at this point really. Then there's the issue with g-sync, the refresh rates aren't aligned so I often get "flickering" on one of the screens when a game is on the other, another issue that's gone and returned across various driver versions.Yea I run 4 displays and the amount of times the driver causes my primary display to black screen on a reboot is just ridiculous. I just had that. What is going on with nVidia?Has the black screen during the driver install been sorted yet?

Nah I used the express option too, and got a black screen.Going to give them ago now, I have had the black screen during install for as long aas I can remember now)Since the (5080)
Edit: I used the express installation option instead of custom and no black screen (unsure if this is linked)
Sigh they doing some c*cking about these days....576.28 are out
Did it on my 4070 Super. Not seen it before.Maybe the black screen issue is exclusive to 5090's ? Not seen any issues on the 5080.
