**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Same here I always update all drivers when a new version arrives, same principle with bios updates too - despite many saying only update bios if you have an issue!

With regards to DLSS, I have tried experimenting with using later DLSS versions in older games but I've often seen either worse performance or visual artifacts. Forbidden West for example has severe ghosting on the latest DLSS. Someone more knowledgeable will likely correct me but I'm not convinced of the benefits of upgrading the version of DLSS if the game was not developed with it in mind.
the dlss 4 transformer model has massive ghosting and the new one has reduced ghosting and reduced performance over native

In the case it’s worth a try on Forbidden West again to see the difference.

I used to use DLSS swapper, I’m assuming there’s no advantage in using the NVIDIA app? I don’t even have that installed.

New is always shinier.

The occasional black screens on startup are back for me on 591.74. Turning the monitor off and on fixes it, so it's not the most serious problem, but it's annoying to see some of 2025's driver woes popping back up as we start 2026.

Only install new drivers if a new game makes me, last one i installed was the one to play bf6, still on that driver and had no problems at all so far ( fingers crossed lol ) its the way ive always been, even before the dodgy drivers from nvidia.
