Not at all, they will burn your house down SimonAre the newest drives safe? 4070 super here
nearly 1/2 a year later since 50 series was released and the drivers are still messed up that's not a good signEvery single driver update i get a black screen while updating, forced to hard reboot. When it comes back on everything is fine and the driver is installed.....but is there a fix to that issue? Been the same for about 6-7 drivers straight now. Tried unplugging monitor and plugging it back in, tried ctrl+win+shift+b but i don't even get the beep to suggest graphics has restarted.
Updated to the latest driver and running a 4070, everything seems great for me so far..Going to be doing fresh install, what's recommended stable drivers for 4070?

I had kept to the 566.36 drivers for my 4080, absolutely perfect. The last revision before they included official support for the 5000 series it seems.
But, with fixes and other additions to the later revisions I decided to give the 576.52 ones a try......
I am getting a random odd black screen, only for one or two seconds. I had done a clean install of the latest drivers, this is after a good few days of use.
Everything runs fine, no issues at all. Just the odd random black screen. That never happens with the 566.36.
I guess it is back to the ones that work.
EDIT: Back to the older drivers, so far all good again.
Must resist temptation.
I do hope that Nvidia can get back to the relative stability in their driver releases that they once had.
Newly built PC (about 6 weeks old), 5090 FE, fresh SSD, never had a black screen. Must be a cocktail of hardware or software and all it takes it something small to cause the system to cause headaches. Just an observation, I have an Asus PG27UCDM which has been running perfectly. I returned it to be replaced with a new one as it had scratches top right. I used in that time an IPS 4k MSI monitor and whenever display would go to sleep I would have to literally push the power button on and off 2 to 3 times for the display to come back on, even if I move my mouse around. It would never come on at boot and I had to this as well to get display. I'm not sure, could it DSC on the Display Port 1.4? As I am using DP 2.1 on the Asus.I can't remember if it was 565.90 or 566.36 but around there definitely seemed to be the best drivers, but aside from a black screen when installing one of the 57x.xx ones on my 4080 Super I've had no issues with any of my 3000 series GPUs, 4080 Super and not aware of any issues with any of the other 3000 and 4000 series systems I've built for people or people in my household have, etc. - I can't say the same for the people with 5000 series though... black screens especially seem to plague them, though weirdly just changing driver one version back or forward or even just reinstalling the driver often seems to fix it at least for awhile if not indefinitely.
