**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Found a small bug...

Keeps loading the Nvidia Control Panel taskbar icon, even though I've unticked it in the actual control panel :D

My mate says his Asus software overlay stuff isn't showing on this driver.
This was a bug when using the last driver too, if you have NVAPP installed then this is why as it became a bug after NVapp updated last time. I binned NVapp. So long trash!

You will be installing it again soon enough, don't worry

This update ensures full compatibility with the newest NVIDIA driver release.

I’m pleased that PhysX Support has come back to Borderlands 2 on the 5090. It’s the best borderlands game!

It’s a shame that PhysX isn’t really a thing in new games as it’s far more immersive than ray tracing for me personally….

New driver re-adds 32bit Physx support to 5000 series on select titles :D

Alice: Madness Returns
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Batman: Arkham City
Batman: Arkham Origins
Borderlands 2
Mafia II
Metro 2033
Metro: Last Light
Mirror’s Edge

Arkham Asylum Physx support also coming in early 2026 according to Nvidia's Jacob Freeman on twitter.

Proving again it was an artificial limitation by Nvidia again.

Better to avoid updating the latest drivers these days. Up until maybe 8 years ago i would always update to latest. These days I only update a handful of times per year. Why mess about wjen everything is working?

Gone are the days we got performance improvements updating drivers.

Now only if i am playing a game day 1 (rare these days) do i bother updating.

PhysX is still being quite widely used (and still in active development), but these days it's open source middleware rather than a flagship proprietary Nvidia feature. You just don't tend to notice that sort of thing in games these days because it's become standard, rather than something you need to enable in the settings. Going back to something like Arkham Knight, it does seem incredibly silly by today's standards that things like smoke/fog and bits of paper blowing around in the world are writ large next to an Nvidia logo in the settings as important features that could only possibly work on Nvidia cards.

Anyone else finding that if they use Nvidia profile inspector to set use the latest DLSS, FG etc, that it screws up FG in some games?

It turns the screen black in at least two games for me, Everspace 2 and Avatar Pandora, both working fine until I used NPI.

Do Nvidia bother to test anything. Newest driver completely breaks RTX HDR. I swear I have a problem with every one of their latest drivers these days.

I agree that having those sorts of effects locked to Nvidia cards is bordering on petty but Nvidia have always done that, and it works to a degree. I've always stuck with Nvidia as they always have something I want that I can't find elsewhere.

I wasn't aware PhysX was still used in modern games. I wish there was more interaction with the environments, destructible environments is always welcome too. I hate it when I fire a rocket launcher at a wall and it's still in one piece as if nothing happened lol.

These drivers fix a major bug (which doesn't affect me) in that they fix the low FPS issue since the Windows 25h2 update.

Maybe 5000 series related...

Only driver that gave me major issues in a long time was the hotfix...

These latest ones are all good apart from the notification bug :)
