Scratchy said:I expected a lot more than that tbh and how could you not after all these cool AI storys and things from the developers about how they where having to turn the AI down because they where just to clever, now it seems that the AI isn't really all that hot, if it wasn't mind blowing to begin with why get peoples hopes up thinking this was going to be the next big step in AI , I know it's hype for the game but it just seems stupid to me.
it was never "too clever" its freedom just allowed it to make huge mistakes. It still does all the things they said it would, its just not the revoloution everyone forsaw. NPC's have daily routines home-work-church chats etc just apparently they dont react to situations. Such as when they bump into the same person 2 seconds after they had a convo and they have it again without a second thought. I mean what did we expect, top minds have been trying to teach machines context forever without success, but some RPG company nails it in a game? pfft!
PC gamer called the AI "great but ruined by a shoddy alogorithm" that being that the NPC's do not react cleverly or even sensibly to a situation, thereby leading to odd seeming events and speech. The AI still sneaks, steals and goes about things of almost its own accord. Thats still a huge leap from 'stands on roughly same spot 24hours a ay waiting for you to come along and click em' in my book
