***The OcUK Bikers meet 2006. 12th of August***

Its a shame you cant attent mr flop.

I just had a new rear tyre fitted to I will have plenty of grip for the meet now instead of the battered old tyre I was running on earlier today!

Can some of the possible attendee's either conform or deny if they will be there as soon as they can :) I know its still 7 weeks away but I like to know who has changed their mind so we know how many to expect on the day :)

I have added you to the list luke :)

MrSix-Happy now?

Well I have ordered a new rear disk and new front pads, i cant afford the £180 at the moment for the new front disks, but once they are on my bike should be nice and quick at stopping. Also needs new chain and sprockets really as well :(

Excellent news Mr 7 :)

Unfortunately its looking more and more likely that I am going to have to give up biking for a year or 2 pretty soon, but dont worry I will be at the meet 100% :D We want some weather like we have had the past couple of days

In answer to you persil, yes you can take a pillion on a restricted license :)

As for keeping the car and the bike, I was all up for selling the bike a week ago, but i went for a blast on it yesterday and I have thought otherwise now :p The only reason is at the moment I am only bringing in about £700 a month, insurances alone are £2500 a year at the moment. Then there is road tax/services/MOT's/fuel and general upkeep, plus I have got to live! I am on the hunt in 2 weeks time for a new job, I am on holiday from work for a week so I am going to set myself a target to try and get an interview at a few places before I go back, I may be lucky and get my notice haded in while I am on holiday :)

Mr7, thats bad news about the bike :(

Jon Frost- If someone is willing to spare their helmet for 10 mins I will take you. I'm not going to be able to bring a spare as I dont have one.

80 miles is about the average distance to be travelling to this meet, but to be fair if its nice then i dont care, I am travelling about 90 miles I think so I could be there in 45 mins, but it should take about 1:30 ish.

only problem is hate long journeys on M roads, I get bored easily.

It will be worth it in the end, you can always take a better route home if you wish, putting the meet just off a motorway junction meant nobody has an excuse not to find the place. :)

Right then, kida bad news but it can be sorted I think...

The ROTA's at work for the next few weeks are up and I am down for a full day sunday, but I am hoping to swap days off with someone else so I work her friday and she works my sunday for me. All my hopes of attending this meet depend on if she is willing or not, I will try and bribe her with the fact sundays are time and a half but if that doesnt work then I am going to have to sort something else out. I cant miss my own meet can i!

I think we need to really work out who is defo going and who isnt now then, its less than 3 weeks until the meet day so things need to be sorted. So, if I start a list and if you are still going just add to it and reply then we can see an updated list.

Piggy, thats fine. Even if you came along just for an hour or so it would be nice to meet you and Desmo :)

I hope we get a freak day like I am having here today, beautiful sunshine here and its going to be about 23 degrees later on

I dont think in the first post I included a meet time, so for arguments sake will people be alright with a midday meet at the location? That way our big fat biker bellies will be rumbling and we can have a bite to eat first while we introduce ourselves to one another.

Is everyone alright with that? Any problems just let me know.

Nice one :)

I serviced the bike myself yesterday so its all n ship shape and ready to go, i am really looking forward to it now, i havent managed to swap the shift at work just yet but I am sure there will be no problems swapping shifts.

Heh! These fine weather riders, what are they like! :p

Luckily though I can class myself as a fine weather rider, its so nice to enjoy every ride these days on my bike and not be a bit annoyed at getting wet or cold :)

Who is going to be the first to show off a kneedown I wonder....

Oh, and I still havent sorted out this sunday, i am still down for working all day but i will just use my young laddish charms on my manager and she will be fine with a swap :)

Nope not at all, I am glad i have seen sense now and got myself some practical transport as well as the bike :p I do feel that in time my skill at riding a bike will slowly go down though, so i try and ride as much as I can still.

I am thinking of booking a trackday when I have the money, but first I need leathers, all tracks require all riders have a minimum of a 2 piece leather outfit. I have protective gear for everthing from head to toe but they still wouldnt allow me on the track with them.
