Are you going to buy the 2022 Apple TV with USB-C charging on the remote?

Once they opened up the App Store, it's perfectly good. Plex works really well, all the main streaming apps are there. It does games but I've no idea how good they are.

Games are iOS ports so they will run perfectly fine on the TV as well, and controller support is decent too. But that's very casual gaming, not comparable to consoles.

If Apple sorted out their software issues with gaming, they can easily make consoles that are on par or even faster than XBox/PS. They don't care because real money is in micro transactions and mobile games, not console.

Oh new iPad and iPad pro also. Still waiting on the change to OLED for the pro as I will want to use it for heavy Apple TV/ ITunes movie watching, or is the bloom decently controlled on these ?

I don't have an Apple TV and my Samsung TV's OS/UI is probably the worst piece of software ever designed, so might get the Ethernet version as well.

I’ve got the last one and I can’t possibly see a reason to upgrade to this. The last one is extremely fast and the remote control is great.

Would be great if the apps within the TV ecosystem we’re updated more often!

Don’t see what the new one gives me to be fair over last years.

Not much, apart from the hdr10+ support, which not everyone will be bothered about seen as not all TVs support it, an Ethernet connection and more powerful processor for better energy efficiency, which helps cut costs for apple. That’s pretty much it.
Sure it’s faster, but the previous ones are fast enough, gaming aside, never used them for that.
I have a 2021 version and I will be sticking with that, I’m not throwing my money at something that I will see no benefit from.
