What in earth are you doing on it?Glad I took the risk and ordered the Macbook pro 16 with 92gb and 4tb storage before the apple event as I knew they wasn't gunna announce the m3 max for it so soon
Lots of stuff. What in earth are you doing on it?
Such as? That’s an awful lot of RAM.Lots of stuff.
My main desktop for reference has 128gb ram and a Threadripper
Damm how did you know...Probably a couple Chrome tabs with some Spotify in the background
What in earth are you doing on it?
Exactly. Well said.Just ordered my very first Apple product yesterday, 96GB of RAM as well.
8K video editing Nikon RAW and 4K prores RAW on Divinchi Resolve, once you start adding enough nodes it can hit some pretty crazy RAM requirements that even a 4090 24GB won't suffice..the unified approach from Apple what sold.it for me.
That and macro photography with 350 image stack hit some 45GB's of RAM on my old PC, any less just stalled ages. That was with 22 mega pixel but I'm shooting 45 now so I imagine it'll eat some more RAM. Luckily all the software is MAC compatible, M1 onward.
Buy once cry once..
You are doing the same? You never answered.Exactly. Well said.
Off topic but some of those photos are crackers, nice work.Just ordered my very first Apple product yesterday, 96GB of RAM as well.

I've heard this sort of thing about the i9 before - Did that CPU never really catch on?I've never felt the 2019 model is as quick as it should be. Prior to that I had a 2017 i7 model with 16GB of RAM and it felt snappier than the i9 model. i9 has gotten progressively slower. It never really slowed down with 2 external monitors (1440p) running 40+ Chrome tabs, video calls, screen sharing, multiple 100MB Google Sheets, but it never felt any quicker if I closed all of it down.
